I'm still predicting Pentecost, but wouldn't be surprised if it's Conforto. Probably comes down to whether they think Jackson/Pentecost can stick and be successful as a catcher (Pentecost is more likely, so that's why I'm leaning towards him).

 

 

 

ETA: Or Schwarber, slipped my mind on him.

Jackson can absolutely stay at catcher. But he'll get moved off to get him to the majors sooner and reduce the load on him.

Technically, he'd give us flexibility. Wouldn't have to carry a backup C. He could play there once a week and LF the rest of the time, which would be kind of cool.

I bet you'd still carry a backup catcher. I really can't see a team letting their second catcher be a guy playing the field every day.
