Titans are apparently interested in hiring Gregg Williams as a defensive assistant. We've not been accused of playing dirty or head-hunting for 2-3 years, so this is probably a necessary move.

I especially like it since it likely would mean Jerry Gray has a quick hook next year.

Rob Ryan - who predicted he'd be out of work "five minutes" - now has his unemployed meter up to over 30,240 minutes. And counting.

RT @Tim_Malek: I thought he signed with the Rams? ... Two sides reached an agreement. But deal did not get signed. And now agreement is off.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher: "It wasn't a scheme fit."

Deadspin:

We're unsure what defensive philosophy the Rams were expecting. Everyone knows any Ryan worth his salt believes in 3-4 alignments, lots of defensive backs, blitzing, Mexican food, and women. Then again, Jeff Fisher had hired Gregg Williams to run his defense before Bountygate, so maybe he just doesn't put much thought into his decisions.

Random dude on Reddit: "The reports I've been seeing have said he didn't pass the physical."

Former Bills defensive coordinator Dave Wannstedt has been hired as the Tampa Bay Buccannees special teams coordinator.

Talk about downward spiral...

Peterson wins OPOY and MVP

gotta be comeback player then too, right? 0-3 for Peyton?

I dunno, I mean, AP did miss 4 games with his injury, but Peyton missed an entire season. That means a bit more to me in terms of "comeback". Though, AP came back quickly from a very nasty injury. So, what I'm trying to say is that I have no idea.

Manning wins Comeback POY, just saw the scroll on ESPN

Lol. Sounds like a consolation prize. AP should've won that too.

I disagree. Everyone comes back from ACL tears nowadays. Yes, he did it quicker than pretty much everyone else has, but it's not surprising he came back at full strength. With Manning, people weren't sure if he was even going to be able to play again or how effective he would be if he did come back.

Lions released Titus Young. But this quote came out, and is awesome.

The latest evidence comes from Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, who shares a conversation Young had with his high-school coach, E.C. Robinson, on Christmas Day.

“He did tell me he thought he was just as good Megatron,” Robinson told Birkett. “I said, ‘Titus, come on.’ I said, ‘Come on, man. Who you talking to?’ I said, ‘Come on, you’re as good as that guy? This guy is the real deal.’ And he really believes this. And he was sincere about it. ‘Ah man, I’m better than him.’ I said, ‘No you’re not. Be real man. Come on.’ So I don’t know, I’m hoping for the best for him.”

That and Peterson played basically a full season last year and had a pretty decent year. Peyton played 0 snaps on a team that got the #1 pick without him to getting his new team HFA throughout the playoffs.

He's obviously an idiot, but what's up with his high school coach making that public? I'd say that relationship is dead.

It's not like the guy has kept quiet about his confidence.

No doubt about that, it's just weird that a coach would release something damaging like that. I assume he has something of a personal/private relationship with Young. Maybe Young wanted him to release it. Most likely the guy just wanted his name in the press.

So Andrew luck for MVP?

Yes, exactly what I was getting at.
