Gould, McManis and Steltz all on IR.

K Olindo Mare signed, WR Joe Anderson promoted from practice squad, LB Jerry Franklin signed off the Dallas practice squad and Andre Gurode waived.

Is this the same Jerry Franklin who went to Arkansas? I watched him at Arkansas in 2010/2011. I was surprised that he went undrafted.

Yeah, Franklin can play, IMO. I liked him as a 5th or 6th rounder last year.

Gould going down bodes really badly and makes me feel really crummy about being in a close game in the last couple weeks, which is a possibility. Olindo has been garbage the last few teams he's been with so ugh, it could be the Doug Brien experience all over again

Perhaps its because I'm resigned to defeat but I don't feel all that awful about this coming game? I expect nothing so to keep it competitive until the end would be nice. The worst thing the Bears could do is jump up to a healthy lead and then blow it, resulting in me destroying several objects in my apartment.

I really don't want a doom boner for the Bears but crap sake.

What can be said? At least we could say if it came down to field goals the Bears had the advantage. But no.

Have you seen Mason Crosby kick this year? He's 17 for 27 overall and has missed 9 FG's his last 9 games. Mare coming from wherever the hell he's coming from the last 15 weeks very well could be better than Crosby right now.

Ya but he's playing against the Bears, he'll be able to hit 55 yard FGs with his eyes closed in the swirling winds.

I hate the Packers but I also hate the direction this team is going in. I do not believe that Lovie is the right guy to coach this team to a Super Bowl. Losing Sunday in my opinion will spur franchise change towards embracing the 2012 offensive philosophy around the league.

24-13 Packers.

Thinking about playoffs scenarios, if the Bears are the 6th seed, their path would be at the Giants, at Atlanta and then at either SF or Green Bay (probably in that order but who really knows with SF) With a few healthy bodies none of those games seem like horrible mismatches for the Bears.

I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse.

Kind of agree. But the Giants D-line v. Bears O-line is a major mismatch and they could wreck Cutler. Possible to be a near repeat of the Sunday night Giants v. Packer game a few weeks ago where Rodgers literally couldn't taken 2 steps back without getting hit.

Mare was beat out in Carolina in training camp. He's pretty bad.

Yeah, I've seen Crosby kick. I live in [expletive] Wisconsin, you little turd.

Looking at the Giants schedule, I don't think they make the playoffs. Also, SF is not a lock in the West since the only road game the Seahawks have left is at Buffalo. When I do the playoff machine I have the Redskins winning the East and the Seahawks winning the West. Giants still play at BAL and at ATL. 49ers are at SEA and at NE.

I think the seeds end up:

1 ATL

2 GB

3 SEA

4 WAS

5 SF

6 CHI

Of course this could all just be wishful thinking on my part. I don't want to see the Giants in the playoffs.

That is quite the meatgrinder as far as potential match-ups go. Seattle is a tough, tough place to play and as good as Wilson was in Chicago, he has played that much better at home. I don't think there is a great option for going on the road, whether that be SEA, SF, or VaGiants errr NYGiants.

The only team that wouldn't be a nightmare matchup would be Washington which has a mediocre, at beast, defense (even though DeAngelo Hall picked off Cutler about 34 times two years ago) and has average receivers, allowing the Bears D to bring up the safeties to play in the box.

Past couple of weeks have been really rough on the Bears playoff chances. I really hate sports sometimes.

The Bears wide receiver said Wednesday this week’s game against the Packers was “personal” and the “biggest game of my career.”

I don’t like the Green Bay Packers,” Marshall said, via Lindsay Jones of USA Today. “I’m not going to use the word ‘hate,’ but I really dislike the Packers and their players.

“But you know what? The talk has to back it up. We’ll go out there and do everything we have to do to get a win.”

Marshall, who carried a Charlie Brown Christmas tree with him to the podium, apparently to illustrate the disrespect, didn’t specify what the Packers did that made him angry. “You’ll have to go on Google or something,” he said.

But he made it clear he didn’t think the Packers stopped him one-on-one.

“I didn’t beat double and triple coverage or whatever they were throwing at me,” Marshall said. “I take it as a slap in my face when guys are talking about my lack of ability to do something against them when they have help all over the place.

“I’m looking forward to one-on-one coverage. Hopefully, those guys, in a game like this, will go to their coach and say, ‘Let me have him. I want Brandon Marshall. I want to stop Brandon Marshall.’ Let’s see what happens.”

I love you Brandon, but please, please shutup.

Man, how great would it be if he made a comment about Aaron Rodgers height?

I thought it was good and constructive trolling. He basically told every Packer in their secondary that individually they can't stop him and even dared them to try. Since that Packer's game, he has been able to consistently beat double teams. If he has the confidence, I say go with it.

I hear you but this sort of stuff just makes it worse when we lose.

As a fan with a family full of cheese heads, I mean.
