Mike Farrell ‏@rivalsmike

Alex Anzalone will enroll at #Florida tomorrow, he is de-committed from #NotreDame due to the Brian Kelly interview w Eagles.

Farrell has about as much credibility as you do on this topic.

Would make good cover for Anzalone though. Oh I was totally solid until and NFL team called Kelly. No HC of mine will ever be a candidate for an NFL job. Nosiree. I know Will Muschamp isn't going anywhere. He's solid as a...hey Will, why you talking to Texas in 2014 when Mack retires...

Oh [expletive]. How did I forget Muschamp interviewed with the Bears just this week! Yeah I think AA's reasoning may not be so closely tied to his college coach interviewing for an NFL gig.

I'm still holding out that tiny bit of hope that the Browns and Bears take Saban and Muschamp out of the SEC a couple weeks before NSD.

Browns just hired Rob Chudzinski so there goes a suitor for Saban.

Yeah, figured it was an extreme longshot anyway.

can we stop talking about notre dame. my homeboy gets all crazy blustery defensive when the subject comes up.

Let's talk about SEC assistant coaches instead.

Did Auburn ever settle on a strength and conditioning coach?

damn, you're right. I forgot to mention that Gus brought over Ryan Russell from Arkansas State...resume is a bit underwhelming.

Haha:

@johnehoover: Mike Stoops on WWLS: "If they can keep (Manziel) out of jail or keep him eligible, he’s gonna be pretty good."

And I really think Saban only leaves if he can be GM. He aint leaving for just a HC gig.

Saban isn't leaving Alabama. He's a god, right next to Bryant. The Bama' boosters pay the assistant coaches almost a million dollars a year, that's why they don't leave.

In the postgame on ESPN after the national championship, Urban Meyer whined about how when he was winning NCs at Florida, his assistants were being raided but that never happens to Saban now. It was fantastic hearing him complain.

LOL at Meyer complaining about being raided for anything.

Wisconsin-River Falls (D-III) defensive coordinator Greg Bower will be the new special teams coordinator / defensive backs coach at Minnesota-Duluth.

The funniest thing about that (to me) is that Saban has been getting raided. He's lost 3-4 assistants the past 2 seasons (Sunseri, McElwain, Pruitt, and I think one other) and teams have been trying hard for Kirby Smart, he just hasn't been terribly interested in leaving.

There's two reasons I think Saban would consider leaving for the right position:

1) He's never been one to stay in one place for a long time. He's hit his max time spent at one coaching position, so it's possible he's wanting to make another move.

2) He (like most all college coaches) is a proud man who doesn't like failure. He failed in the NFL and he very well may want another crack at it to prove he can do it.

That doesn't mean I think he'd jump at any NFL offer, but for the right situation I don't think it's completely unrealistic to think he may jump.

That's the only reason why he'd leave like Carroll did, unlike Carroll though, he appears to be running a cleaner program and doesn't have to jump off a sinking ship before the NCAA comes calling.

That's unlike Kelly who is likely using the Eagles as leverage for a better deal for him and his staff.

That's the truly amazing thing about Saban's success - he's either run clean programs at LSU and Alabama or he's done a better job than anybody else at hiding it.

Yep, Saban, Bear, and Jesus (in that order) are king here.

Texas will offer Saban $10 million a year next year and he will decline it.

I'm hoping Texas hires Muschamp next year and the Cowboys hire Saban, getting both of them out of the SEC (and hurting both Alabama and Florida). I doubt Saban's and Jerry's egos fit together, though.

Feldman tweets that RB Cierre Wood is "leaving early" for the draft. Maybe he means he plans to give himself a couple extra hours to deal with traffic bc Wood is graduating this spring (though leaving a year of eligibility on the table).
