The NCAA is a GD joke.

Yep. Time to blow it up.

nah, just move toward four 16-team super conferences that self-govern and leave the NCAA for the Sun Belt and Mountain West

Not a terribly important story, but Urban Meyer is lying again:

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9448352/urban-meyer-knew-ohio-state-buckeyes-reported-florida-violation-source-says

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer was not initially aware that the Buckeyes turned in Florida for a possible secondary NCAA violation, an Ohio State spokesman said Wednesday, though a source with knowledge of the situation told ESPN that "Urban was aware of it and he endorsed it."

Meyer told the Gainesville Sun it's "absolutely not true" that he turned in an assistant at his former school and there was "zero coach involvement."

The incident involved an alleged illegal "bump," i.e. contact, between Florida running backs coach Brian White and Brooklyn Erasmus High School running back Curtis Samuel. The Southeastern Conference investigated the allegation and ruling that no NCAA violation had been committed, a source told ESPN.

The Big Dog's son, Gelen Robinson comitted to Purdue today. He's a 4-Star LB and was Purdue's top target.

How many sons does he have and how many other near-anagrams can he come up with?

Both good questions, apparently they should all be recruited. Besides football, Gelen is a state champion wrestler (49-0) / and top notch track & field guy (2nd in state in discuss and shot put). GRobIII is obviously destined for the NBA unless something crazy happens.

The top 50 college players for the NFL, regardless of class (7 of those players aren't eligible for the 2014 draft).

I AM SUCH A PATHETIC SUCKER FOR THIS TYPE OF STUFF.

So I watched South Carolina twice last season so I may not be the best guy to judge. I saw them play early in the year and almost lose to Vanderbilt I think and I watched them play Michigan in whatever bowl. Except for the "play" where the Michigan rb gets de-helmeted, I barely noticed him in those games. Lewan really had Clowney under control most of the game. Clowney was left un-blocked on the "play". Couple that with a player with too-much hair for his helmet and it looks great, but was not really that great of an individual play. Is he really this clear cut number one without any doubt talent or is it somewhat over-hyped?
