Please don't be over-protective homer guy, no one likes that. It's okay to enjoy the great class without having to defend your school's honor at every turn. Ole Miss, the perennial doormat who finished 9th in the SEC this year, is getting 4 and 5 star commits from Texas, Florida, Illinois, and Georgia. Of course there's going to be some suspicion, because quite frankly that sort of thing has never been done before.

I'm not that guy insofar as that I admitted that if they get Tunsil, I will raise my eyebrow and by god I did. It's odd. He and Golson are outliers. The Rebels have spots on the OL for those guys to be starters next year, so maybe the allure of instant playing time in the SEC helped. I don't know, but it's odd.

But Ole Miss' recruiting class this year and their high ranking is really a perfect storm and probably won't happen again for a long time. If 5-star Nkemdiche's brother isn't at Ole Miss, we don't get him. If 5-star Treadwell's best friend from childhood isn't at Ole Miss, we don't get him. If 5-star Tony Conner isn't from 20 minutes away, we might not get him.

Ole Miss just really benefited from some lucky circumstances this year...for the most part.

Then he's seen their recent 2 and 3 win seasons up close.

Correct, and then seeing them make changes like this in a single season should have convinced him that Freeze is a damn good ball coach and has the program on the rise.

Points Scored

2011: 193

2012: 409

PPG

2011: 16.1

2012: 31.5

Yards

2011: 3375

2012: 5509

Sacks

2011: 13

2012: 37

Those 4 stats, two of which are basically the same, are pretty impressive.

I'm saying Freeze paid all the players. He probably let all the 4 and 5* players commit bc they love Mississippi but used money to get the filler.

you're just not very educated about it and I wouldn't expect you to be. It's ok, I get it. I'm not going to pretend to know anything about any of the Irish recruits or their personal reasons for going there.

Irish recruits go to Notre Dame because they're the greatest ever and have the greatest fan base in the known universe.

seems weird to start throwing $$$$$ accusations at ole miss considering we know there's underhanded [expletive] being done at every school. not to mention all these weirdo 18 year olds know each other and all it takes is one charismatic alpha dog to bring in all his buddies.

maybe i just care less about this stuff than i used to

Ty Isaac, one of USC's three remaining commits, will not sign his LOI today because he has strep throat.

Didn't know a side effect of strep was the inability to sign your name and send a fax.

Freezus sent him $750 and two sorostitutes. He will be signing with us later today.

USC is really falling apart lately. It's pretty ugly.

Alex Collins also apparently isn't signing his LOI to Arkansas. Some drama there.

Eddie Vanderdoes was included in Notre Dame's initial release and then they took him off. Either they committed a minor infraction or (more likely) he sent in his LOI but they jumped the gun on his announcement. Looks like UCLA has a ways to go to get to Notre Dame's level.

PR didn't include Folston whose letter is supposed to come in now at 2:30 local time. Word is EV already signed but ND was supposed to keep it quiet and someone screwed up.

EV4™ @EddieVanderdoes

Ill put my life on it that I have NOT signed one paper yet

EV4™ @EddieVanderdoes

Got these grown men trying to mess up what I've been dreaming of since I was little. Stop it with these 'sources' an just wait till 5

This is awesome:

@BarrettSallee: ESPN's Corey Long says Arkansas RB commit Alex Collins' mother "confiscated his papers" and left school

Truly outstanding stuff.

EV shooting down the source that he's already signed.

If he commits, someone posted on Twitter that ND will have more 5* California kids than any school. I'm guessing that doesn't happen often.

Even if he doesn't, a terrific class put together by Kelly and Co.

Im going to give some respect to the ball coach for another solid recruiting class. USC has been outperforming the expectations of their recruiting and is now an elite level program that could have beaten anybody in the country last year even after losing the top back in the nation. Scouting/Coaching/Developing or whatever, the old ball coach has the gamecocks primed for a BCS run this year.

Easy schedule for us, a win @ Georgia or home vs Florida will likely ensure an SEC east win and hopefully a chance to win the conference and play for the BCS title.

The story going around is that his mom ran away with his LOI so he couldn't sign it.

Edit: see this was already brought up. Apparently she doesn't want him to go so far away. Still, if you're gonna pull that stunt, why do you let your son go on ESPN and announce he's going to Arkansas two days earlier?

Yeah, looks like it's South Carolina's turn to get the easiest path from the East to the SEC Championship Game in 2013, which Georgia benefited from last season.
