He was just rounding 2nd when the cutoff man had the ball.

Looks like the 3rd base coach was waving him to 3rd which is terrible, but Drew could see the throw before he ran too far off 2nd, he should have recognized it and went back.

No. It's not on Drew. He picked up his coach who was waving him to 3rd before he got to 2nd. He did what he was supposed to do. When guys start looking back and making decisions on their own instead of picking up their coach, you get [expletive] like Hardy not scoring in game 2 against the Yankees.

Also, I think its really dumb that the MLB would schedule a game 5 to start at noon on a weekday. What kind of crap is that? You have 2 game 4's that can go in that spot, or just play them at the same time. I know the networks wouldnt be thrilled, but screw that. Baseball fans have to work sometimes, even ones in Cincinnati and San Francisco.

A few interesting schedule issues this postseason.

Game 5 at 10 AM for Giants fan on a weekday.

Game 5 at 9:30 PM for Tigers fans on a weeknight.

If it's A's/O's Game 7 of the ALCS would be Oct. 21. The Raiders are home that day. They would never do this, but even if Bud went crazy and tried to move the game to AT&T there is a potential Giants/Cardinals Game 6 on the same day. Again, would never happen, but if they somehow both won the pennant on the same day at AT&T that would be crazy.

Just because I like odd things in baseball I want this to happen.

It's baseball. There's nothing wrong with that.

There's nothing wrong with it if it weren't a game 5. But why isn't STL/Nats the first game? Makes no sense.

Judging by the response I've seen, Cardinals fans might actually burn down MLB headquarters for having to play consecutive noon games.

It makes plenty of sense. It's a day game, what difference is noon or 3? Throughout MLB history fans who wanted to watch or listen to a game have made an effort to watch or listen to a game. You can't play them all at perfectly ideal times.

Every single person on here would be bitching if the Cubs were in the playoffs and played at noon.

Yay!

I would be looking forward to tomorrow but the Cardinals making the NLCS will ruin my mood for the 2 evening games.

Hopefully SF can complete the comeback so we don't get the nightmare StL-Cincy NLCS matchup.

If STL and CIN win, the Cardinals dodge the other team's ace for the second straight series, because Cueto can't pitch in the NLCS now since Leake replaced him this series.

If the Cubs were in the playoffs, which they haven't sniffed in 4 years, there's nothing that could make me that unhappy apart from losses.

If it's STL/CIN, I hope none of the CIN pitchers are allowed to pitch and they lose by forfeit.

Why the hell are people piling on to someone for wanting to watch baseball on a baseball message board? Shouldn't that be encouraged?

I would be ecstatic.

And drunk.

Mostly drunk, but also ecstatic.

Sooooooo many sick/vacation/personal days would be used.

I'm going to have to remember in 2015 to try and carry over some extras into 2016, just in case. Although we can only carry over 5.

I'd be surprised if you had five left after following the Cubs' 2015 world championship run.

I think we see every series conclude today:

Reds vs. Cardinals

Latos has been nasty in the 2nd half of 2012 and has owned this Giants this year. Cardinals have the Nats dead in the water, almost like big vs. little brother. And the Nats are sending....Ross Detwiler to the mound.

Yankees vs. Tigers

Yankees should pound Joe Saunders. Tigers/A's is toughest to call for me, the Tigers are really gonna ned Verlander to be shutdown IMO but I think they win a close, low scoring one.

Ross Detwiler

Is that seriously a thing?

Yup, and it's very, very sad.

He's actually not a terrible pitcher but the Cards smash LHP and when I say he's not that terrible I also mean he's not that great.

Only game vs STL this year (and ever): 2.1 IP, 4 H, 7 R/3ER, HR, 5 BB, 3 K.
