When the hell was the last time a NYC team was actually nationally beloved? That's crazy talk.

'01 Yankees on a technicality?

That lasted about a week.

I dunno, when someone says "beloved" I'm picturing a team that people love for more than just the playoffs or a certain player or the championship or even a single season. A NYC superteam would be good for business, but they'd be even bigger villains than the Heat.

[expletive] the Lakers and [expletive] the NBA.

I can't believe the Lakers trade garbage, yes garbage to basically swap out a lessor player for a better player. Year after year they rape teams in trades and everyone helps them do so.

If they win the title it would be a huge mockery of the NBA.

The NBA crossed the line into mockery quite some time ago.

When the league Vince McMahon'd the kings, that was it's low point.

Stern is totally morphing into McMahon, he was in full heel mode at the draft.

Pretty stoked Gasol wasn't included in the deal.

Yeah, when I saw the proposed deal the other day where they were giving up both Bynum and Gasol, I thought that would be too much.

Getting Howard for just Bynum is a steal. Kupchak has to have blackmail pics of all the other GM's.....I don't get how the Lakers are able to keep ripping teams off like this....

Some time shortly after the Bulls started winning titles no doubt.

Even after the Bulls stopped winning (98') just about any team could build a balanced team to win a title, which is why the Spurs and Pistons were as good as they were in the 00's (yes the Lakers were too, but remember that they got Kobe in a draft day trade from Charlotte). The Spurs teams of that era wouldn't get beyond the Conference Finals today.

What "garbage" are you referring to?

The best player LA gave up to upgrade Andrew Bynum to Dwight Howard was Josh freaking McRoberts. That's the 'garbage' he's referring to.

Joe Johnson was playing NBA 2K when he found out he had been dealt. The first thing he did was trade himself to the Nets. Kinda cool.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have hired noted stat geek Sebastian Pruiti as their video analyst.

I'm bummed, because his articles on video analysis are awesome.

I suppose this is more for any OKC fan's benefit than anyone else, but for anyone that wasn't familiar with Pruiti's work before getting hired on for the Thunder, these were the last two articles he wrote up before getting hired:

Oklahoma City's Bigs Problem

How James Harden's Hesitation Cost the Thunder

The guy was doing things with video analysis that nobody else was doing before, and spawned hundreds of imitators, and now he's got a vested interest in one particular team. Maybe the best non-player hire of the offseason.
