gameday scout says:

Homer Bailey has thrown 84 pitches but has plenty left in the tank with his fastball sitting at 93 over the last 10 pitches.

Next pitch: Ian Stewart 2B to left center

Looks like the genius IBB is gonna work out for Dusty.

At the very least we turned the lineup over, though I guess it would've been a PH to lead off the top of the 7th anyway.

DeJesus has quietly put together a really ugly start.

He also actually has the highest LD% on the team.

Yeah...hasn't shown any power yet, but if can keep hitting line drives and taking walks like he has, his normalized stats should be pretty good, or at least good for his standards.

He was quietly doing pretty well up until the Philly series.

Yeah, I hadn't really been looking at many stats and in my mind he had some pretty good numbers. But watching on gameday today I was surprised by how bad it looks.

He's hit a handful of balls I thought had a chance to get out, but a couple were into the wind at Wrigley and two were between the alleys in Miami.

Amusing (to me) stat: Ian Stewart has the second-lowest LD% among all Cub regulars (Soto) at 21.0%, but he's still above average in the category among all major league regulars.

Yes, Dusty, using Aroldis Chapman as a setup guy is totally maximizing his value.

The guy is a monster but I don't know much about him. Can he start? Are there concerns his hard throwing and the increased innnings would lead to injury?

He started all through spring training and was being stretched out to be one this year. Was pretty dominant (I know, ST stats, lol). Dusty wouldn't commit. Madson got hurt and he was officially relegated to the pen.
