Have a feeling Minnesota is gonna give IU all they can handle tonight.

Agree. We got a nice run going, but Mbakwe just raped Zeller. My Gosh what a block.

I don't really know what all the back-and-forth is about...Iowa St. should have won the game, it's pretty simple.

Disagree, Self's a great coach. He knew what the team was lacking and he worked on it. The refs have really taken over the last couple games for the Hawks. It's just great coaching.

4 point lead with Zeller/Watford combining for 2 points, 0-6 shooting, 2 rebounds, and 4 fouls. I'll take that everyday. Add in Yogi and that's 0-11 from 3/5 of the starting lineup. Good minutes from Elston defensively and spreading the floor.

Dammit I wish I remembered to predict Minny over IU yesterday. I just had this feeling Minnesota would win this one. Oh well. Michigan now controls their own Big Ten championship destiny again.

Because Sheehey really needed to do something to make him an even bigger [expletive] than he already was.

What did he do?

Flopped from a phantom elbow.

Acted like he was shot in the side of the face to try to draw a flagrant foul. There's a decent chance there was no contact and if there was, it was completely minimal. Then he flopped and rolled around while holding the side of his face.

I didn't think he was even close to being hit. It was worth a try, no technical for flopping. Still a douche, though he's my douche.

FWIW, I thought Cody Zeller was a miserable failure in this game. If you're the preseason national player of the year, a potential #1 overall pick, certain lottery pick...you can't allow a team 22 offensive rebounds. Granted Watford didn't show up, but it wasn't his fault his coach had him fronting a same-size, stronger player. Not only the rebounding, but Z once again allowed way too many points. The guy he was guarding either scored on him or got such good position on him that the help had to come and leave the weakside boards open whenever they went at him. On offense, he consistently goes up weak. Didn't on the Mbakwe block, but he had 2 other shots blocked that he should have been able to power thru and score. He also missed what should have been an And-1. And the play that made me realize that IU was 100% going to lose this game is when he had the ball on the baseline and dribbled the ball off his foot toward the middle of the floor when the defender was conceeding either a makeable jumper or giving up the baseline underneath. IU was down 6 and that would have cut the lead to 4 and they would not have had to start fouling and forced Minnesota to make shots.

Also, Tom Crean should completely scrap the zone defense. All it does is helps teams get out of scoring slumps. I can live with teams going at Zeller as long as he stays out of foul trouble. But offenses have struggled to run their sets with Oladipo, Ferrell, and Sheehey flying around the backcourt. There's a clear plan to beat the zone and teams have been able to do that consistently because of the lack of interior defensive awareness in IU's zone.

Yogi is terrible tonight. About 5 missed layups and a missed jumper inside the FT line. Now a travel.

That's going to hurt the Draft stock

Cody Zeller went 2-9 and was awful. Guess he's not an NBA player.

Remember when we played this game with Victor Oladipo? That was fun.

It's Zeller's ballhandling, not his shooting that is going to make him a pro.

IU got beat up inside again. They haven't responded well this year to any physical play inside; it's the main thing that cost them the Butler game (and was a factor in the Wisconsin game too). No reason to expect that to change. I'll be hoping to avoid physical half-court teams in the tournament, especially those that also have stretch-fives.
