Big 12 to review last minute of Kansas-Iowa St

and by "review" they mean watching the last five minutes while high fiving each other and practicing autoerotic asphyxiation.

"what's the weather like in [TBD country]?"

"what is it like to be paid in chicken livers and bales of hay instead of money?"

"do you have to provide your own shoes in that league?"

That would be an interesting story if the Big 12 didn't already review every game's officiating.

ISU fans can blow me. I watched the game when I got home (was initially following it on game cast), and there were plenty of terrible calls to go around. The Withey botched call should only have been his 4th anyway. And Withey didnt do anything to statistically impact the game after it anyway. The Johnson call was bad. Boo hoo. Be better so it doesn't have a chance to impact the game.

ISU fans should complain about their team's rec league defense. Or Georges Niang hoisting up 17 frigging shots. Or Lucious' choke job in the FT line. Or maybe they shouldnt let a guy who averages 9 pts on 38% shooting score 39 on 50%+.

Apparently playing anything other than that against Kansas isn't allowed. You get no called when you take an obvious charge and then called for a foul for breathing on a guy.

I'm not bitching about this because it's Kansas. Calls blown that badly are inexcusable in any basketball game. It gets magnified since it was so obvious and in the last few seconds of the game, but calls like that and the wait until you see if the shot goes in to blow the whistle that seems to be getting so popular amongst referees have to go, and in a hurry.

i also think the incompetent ref that missed the charge called the BS foul on niang on the floor because he saw that tharpe was going to get a wide open look at a 3 to win it. he thinks "oops, fucked up that charge call, have to at least ensure that iowa state makes it to OT, can't let that guy drain a game winner."

yeah, it only determined the outcome of the game. geez what a bunch of babies.

and withey's 26 moving screens more than made up for the one bad charge they called on him in the first half.

lol @ an ISU fan bitching about anyone's moving screens.

Our d held you guys to 36% from the field. If the refs hadn't blown the whistle any time we came near you (you shot 34 FT), you're not in the game. Sucks that KU had to pay 5 on 8 all game, but we were able to overcome it and claim the victory.

I mean honestly, how does a team shoot 41 threes AND still go to the line more than the other team? Home cooking at its finest.

If there is an authority on home cooking it would definitely be a Jayhawk fan.

yep, just your ordinary, run of the mill review of every game's officiating.

The #Big12 acknowledges that officiating errors were made at the end of regulation during last night’s Kansas at Iowa State game. The plays have been reviewed and appropriate measures will be taken by the Coordinator of Men’s Basketball Officials to adjust the number of future assignments for the two officials involved in conjunction with Conference policies.

pretty standard procedure...happens every game.

HOWEVER, it doesn't say which team got screwed, so i think we can safely assume they're referring to all those terrible calls that went against kansas.

hope bill self accepts their apology.

This happens every game. The results of the review are always used to evaluate future assignments. This is only a story because ISU is demanding blood for maybe missing out on being #3 in conference, forcing the conference to discuss their standard practices.

Non-story.
