I mean title. I don't think you can get there under Crean. Too many games I've seen this year where he does things to beat your team. I'm probably wrong though.

Well . . . your analysis is not wrong. I think your conclusion is though. I think IU "can" win a title under Crean --he wouldn't be the worst coach to win a title -- though who knows if that happens.

I've said on here several times Crean has done an amazing job turning you around. I just don't think he's the guy to finish it off with a title.

Maybe not. But it's sure nice to be in the conversation again. Including this year, IU has only been higher than a No. 5 seed three times since 1993--and two of those are Crean teams (and both were No. 4 seeds prior to this year). IU had not been much of a national player for twenty years. They are again.

They can win in spite of him. I keep thinking the zone will be scrapped, but it's not. But as has been said, it's all about the half court execution on offense. And despite Crean, IU can win because they are most likely going to have the best players on the court in any game they will play. Zeller, Watford, and Oladipo are all capable of taking over regardless of the play called. Of course, none of them have shown the personality to do so on a consistent basis.

Our first game you lost smply because Zeller didn't get enough touches. That was an inexcusable way to lose a game IMO. That said you did correct it the second time we played.

Not getting Zeller enough touches has been an ongoing problem for two years. I am expecting that when/if IU loses in the tournament, a lot of fans will look at the box score and scratch their heads as to why he only had eight or nine shots from the field.

Yeah they have not had a team capable of any thing for 20 years. People equate that to losing Knight but it happened long before he left.

Sounds like UCLA's problem in 2008 - not getting Love enough touches (and then having Collison guard Rose instead of Westbrook - sigh).

lol, Greg Anthony just said he has Indiana as a 2.

Its possible. Though I don't know how Kansas or Duke could have an argument. Stranger things have happened though.

I heard that too. I think IU's falling off the top 1 seed in favor of Louisville, but they're still, at worst, the third 1 seed.

Yeah. I like IU's resume better than Louisville's overall, but it's close and Louisville is playing better. I'd understand that. But IU not being a No. 1 would be rather inexplicable.

So I am no basketball strategy expert. But I have often wondered why these teams that are clearly more talented than Wisconsin do not just press the heck out of them. Why not do something that would force a pace that goes against there style. It almost seems like Indiana, Michigan and Ohio St would be the perfect teams to do it also.

It's very hard to do. It's much easier to slow a fast team down than speed a slow team up. Plus in order to press you have to make baskets, Wisconsin does a very good job of limiting field goals. So in order to press them you got to make a bunch of baskets.

That was great. Not just the pro-IU argument, but the Gonzaga stuff was outstanding.

What was said?

Paraphrasing . . . Anthony said IU shouldn't be a No. 1. Gottlieb said compare the resumes, including Gonzaga, citing IU's road wins. Davis cited Gonzaga's undefeated WCC record. Gottlieb asked what their record would be in another conference, like the Big Ten. Davis lamely said they would have had the "chance" for better wins. Gottlieb responded with "like at home to Illinois?"

I [expletive] love Doug Gottlieb.

He's the best. I've always loved him but it's great that he's been openly campaigning for Iowa to get in. How many commentators would say on national tv that a team just got "Teddy V'ed" against MSU and that is why people are keeping them out?

Plus he just kills Davis in every debate. Davis was saying no way should Iowa be in after earlier using close road losses to favor another team. Gottlieb brought up all of Iowa's close road losses against good teams, asked him why that didn't matter for them and Seth just was left stammering with his smarmy smile.

He's a good announcer, but he's also a thief and pos human being.

How do you muster up the energy to get out of bed in the morning knowing you'll be offended by everything and everyone?

Ouch. That's a pretty good smackdown by Gottlieb.
