Bill Walton is absolutely blitzed out of his mind this evening, apparently. He made a Ray Lewis/limo joke and a Bill Simmons suspension joke just in the first half of the Washington/Oregon game.

I'm not sure Bill Walton will be working tomorrow night's games.

Which would be a damn shame.

Richmond was up 3 on Charlotte with 5.9 left. They fouled with 4.7 left to send Charlotte to the line for a 1 and 1. He made the first, then a Richmond player shoved down a Charlotte guy after it went in which resulted in a dead ball technical. Charlotte made the 2nd from the initial 1 and 1 then both technical free throws, then were fouled on the inbounds pass with 2.8 left, then Chris Mooney (Richmond coach) got 2 technicals to get ejected.

Charlotte then made the 4 technical free throws to go up 68-63 and win. From up 3 with 5.9 left to down 5 on 8 free throws. Never seen anything like that.

video of the push

WOW

They just had it on ESPN and I think I saw this right - on that immediate foul on the inbounds after the first technical the refs gave Charlotte an act of shooting foul at midcourt as soon as they caught it, so they got 3 free throws. Sure the guy might have been pretending to shoot it, but nobody ever gets that call, ever. That's when the Richmond coach lost it and got kicked out. Justifiably so I'd say. That was some shady officiating.

Yeah, that's the only part of the situation that I have a real issue with.

How were the times chosen for this tourney? I would guess of the teams playing on day 1, the only teams non-fans would care to watch are Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa. Of course 3 of those 4 teams played in the early portion. Nebraska-Purdue is the early prime time game, followed by Iowa-Northwestern?

The most compelling games of the day was probably Illinois-Minnesota and it was on at 11. Michigan is the best team playing today and they played at 1:30.

Even tomorrow...you have Indiana and Wisconsin anchoring early games, while the night games are MSU and OSU probably whipping on Iowa and Nebraska/Purdue.

Weird way to avoid putting the most compelling games on primetime

The bracket and game times are set months in advance.

Pretty sure the time slots for seeds/games have been consistent for years (ever?).

The only one I can remember getting changed (other then the obvious addition of a 4th game on Thursday) is that the 4/5 game was switched with the 1/8-9 game last year. The 4/5 game used to be the early game on Friday since that was the only game where neither team had played on Thursday. Now since there is no game like that the number 1 seed gets the earliest slot.

Anyone else having issues with the crappy ESPN3/WatchESPN stuff online? I'm clicking on links that do nothing.

I have problems running it on Chrome but it works in explorer (the only thing I use that browser for).

Yeah, I started using IE for ESPN3 after it lagged pitifully on Firefox. For whatever reason it works ok in IE.

Because any web developer that wants to develop for a wide audience absolutely has to support IE over anything else.

Ugh, Michigan wearing Adidas camo uniforms today. Not a bad as ND's but still

Those Michigan unis are fine. Of all the adidas schools I think UM has the least to complain about. Their football specialty unis haven't been the best but they haven't been an affront to human decency like everything they've done with Notre Dame's.

I freaked out for about half a minute about being able to actually watch ESPN on WatchESPN before realizing they don't black out midday programming on the Internet.

It's pissing me off because it's not working with IE either. [expletive] it, I'm going to go "work from home".
