As dumb as Purdue's final possessions. I can't believe Painter drew up the PG overdribbling for 95% of the shot clock for multiple possessions.

 

I can't believe I actually rooted for Purdue in this one. But what the hell were those play calls? "Jackson, you dribble for 25 seconds, then get into the offense. If nothing develops go for the desperation shot!" It's not like they were up 5....they were up 1. ONE!

 

On the final play where Hummel put up the desperation three, he actually ran a backdoor cut and Jackson didn't hit him. Would have been a very good chance Purdue grabs the lead there, at least a lot better than the off balance three point shot he ended up putting up. The play before I had no problem with as Purdue had the lead with under a minute to go and Jackson had the ball out at half court. Also, the play call was good with Hummel cutting through the lane and had an opportunity there too, but that was right as Jackson lost the ball.

 

It sucks to put it on one player, and I loved Lewis Jackson's career, but those last two plays are almost 100% his fault.

On that note, the Baby Boilers are gone. One of the greatest recruiting classes in Purdue basketball history. Hummel's injuries cost a shot at a Final 4 but they also bridged the gap and covered up poor recruiting classes by Painter. 2012 and 2013 look good and Painter is on some good 2014 kids so the future is bright.

While I don't want to act irrationally in any way, I do wish we would stop talking about that dude. I feel like I'm actually associated with him in some way (which I don't want to be). It annoys me that he's the Purdue figure head around here even though he doesn't even post here anymore.

I thought Kentucky was going to kill them the first time and they didn't. Granted, it was at IU. I still think this game is within 4-6 points either way depending on end of game free throw shooting.

let me assure you that i most certainly do not care enough about purdue, their fans or robbie hummel to troll about any of these things.

i didn't think i would care enough about some nobody, irrelevant mid-major to hate them, but i super hate creighton. as if their obnoxious fans weren't enough, they played like a dirty bunch of punks yesterday vs. carolina. i don't know if there's a player in basketball i hate more than gibbs (the guy who slapped henson's wrist, "drew" the technical, then winked at the creighton bench like a prep school bad guy from an 80s movie).
