It's painful to leave such good picks on the board, but Jeff Ireland dropped the ball on Matt Flynn/Peyton Manning.

The Dolphins select Ryan Tannehill

Teams who draft QB out of desperation live to regret it.

I actually like Tannehill a lot. Kind of an accurate version of Jake Locker.

This is a tough spot. Carolina would kill for Claiborne to be here but he's not. Michael Floyd would be a luxury buy for a team that has more important needs. Dontari Poe destroyed at the combine but I'm leery of gym-class heroes. Quinton Coples has effort issues. Fletcher Cox would be a reach here. Luke Kuechly is good but Carolina has a couple of good LBs in his mold already.

Although I don't like to do it, Carolina takes Dontari Poe here and hopes he's really as good as he appeared at the combine. Their front four needs are that pressing.

Really tough call here, Reiff, DeCastro, and Kuechly are all good options. I'll go with David DeCastro - G - Stanford

I think you jumped the gun

Thanks was having trouble following the thread.

So does that mean the Cards are up?

Edit: Duh, yes it does. Arizona Cardinals take OG David DeCastro Stanford. Their OL sucks so just went pure BPA there, though a pass rusher would not have been a bad idea.

Double edit: No.

DeCastro was taken already.

Completely missed that.

Arizona Cardinals finally pick Riley Reiff OT Iowa. Their OL talent legitimately is unimpressive, which is depressing because Nick Perry would really work well here. A DL with Campbell and Perry as bookends and Dockett + whoever in the middle...oh well....plus like those two he offers some positional versatility as I think he is the 2nd best DE/OLB in this draft after Ingram.

I'm waiting to hear back from my war room, but I thought I would share some thoughts and get input on the Cowboys pick. With Decastro off the board, I have little doubt the Cowboys will go for defense.

The players under consideration are likely Upshaw, Barron, Cox, Brockers, Kirkpatrick, or Janrois Jenkins. With the signing of Carr- I'm thinking they will pass on Kirkpatrick or Jenkins and look at the other players.

Spencer is playing on franchise tender, so Upshaw could be an option. I have concerns about whether he has the speed needed and would he really be an upgrade over Spencer.

Brockers has the measureables that intrigue me, but his film production and the fact he only had 2 sacks makes me wonder if he will reach his ceiling. I really like the versatility of Cox and believe he could play both end and NT in Dallas's 3-4 front. He also seems to be a disruptor, but he lacks the size of Brockers. Barron is the best safety in the draft, but I'm not certain he's a difference maker. He's solid and will likely be a good strong safety, but he lacks that speed I would want from a safety selected this high in the draft.

Thoughts?

It'd end up being between Barron and Cox for me, and I'd go with the interior pass rusher. Cox is a reeeeeeally nice talent man and I'm surprised he's still on the board at all. Cox and Brockers have major upside, and I think Cox is both more likely to reach it and more of what the Cowboys might be looking for. Then again, they might need the anchor Brockers might turn out to be...Hmm...that is interesting, but I'd go Cox.

I think people are sleeping so hard on Barron...For a guy most are labeling as a SS he played alot of centerfield in college and made an awful lot of plays on the ball (13 INTs, 34 PD).
