That's because you're some kind of weird, racist Asperger's monster.

And you find me incredibly hard to ignore. Ignoring things that bother you is not exactly your calling card.

You're incredibly easy to ignore; it's simply far more fun to mock you.

Yeah if you want a jumbotron for all those great replays and that's going to improve your experience then you'll be disappointed. You'll see some HRs and a guy catch a foul ball while holding his beer.

I want to see replays of good plays. I don't really care about replays of controversial plays because showing them on the big screen wouldn't alter the outcome at all...it'd just incite stupid behavior.

It doesn't offset the negative that I think comes with the jumbotron - the pumping music and crap every half inning like you're at a minor league park. That's a lot of fun a couple times a year with kids at the minor league parks. But I like watching ML baseball without all that crap. Maybe I'm in the minority but I loved that about Wrigley. Outside of Sweet Caroline it may have been the only thing I liked about Fenway.

Edit: didn't word that well. Sweet Caroline is the only time the atmosphere at Fenway reminded me of a minor league park. Other than those few minutes I liked the atmosphere.

I'm just surprised the music and the entertainment actually bother people. I could see people not giving a [expletive] about it (I'm in this camp) and being totally indifferent to it. It seems so insignificant to bother me.

In between innings I watch the players warm up, its always fun to see the outfielders and how strong MLB arms really are, when they are just long tossing throwing lazers to each other.

None of the fan excitement races, noises, etc have ever gotten in the way of me watching the game or even the players between innings.

I don't see why the stadium being dead silent and not having music or anything going on is so amazing. Again I wouldnt care either way but just surprised the music actually bothers people.

More importantly that the jumbotron and the music would bother people to the point they would rather the stadium not have the jumbotron plus its added revenues. If it brings enough money in for the team Idc if they force it to put headphones on listening to hawk harrelson the whole damn game (ok well that might be going to far).

You know what would bring in some revenue? Ads on the jerseys. Castro could have the Cheerios bee on his back and chest. Maybe Soriano could have quaker state in his jersey. It'd be a cash cow. Who would be bothered by such a thing?

Another winter classic at Wrigley?

Direct quote from Theo today:"We are doing the absolute best we can. You ask how important are the revenues to increase our payroll? They are really important. We are not where we want to be from a revenue standpoint, therefore we are not where we want to be from a payroll standpoint." There Kyle, quit blaming the FO. Direct your stuff at Ricketts, because he's got us capped, whether we like it or not.

First, Theo lies and spins with the best of them.

Second, I have plenty of Theo-led complaints that have nothing to do with not splurging on FAs in 2011-12.

Your first point is pure trolling and if thats what you think, go be a fan of another team. You've seen plenty of articles basically stating this and Ricketts has quotes out there too. It's just taking a ginormous [expletive] on your argument for the last 6 months and you've got nothing now. Because even you know that if we can't exercise a payroll advantage currently, then asking them to wave magic wands, with what they inherited, was about all they could do. As for your 2nd point? Everyone acknowledges there are a few things they would have done differently. That said, if THIS is where our payroll is capped at currently, there's nothing that could have been done yet to have us in the playoffs. I'm pissed at some stuff too, but its at Ricketts, for not having more funds available.

MLB executives of team with 4th highest revenue in sport cry poor, davell takes them at their word. Details at 11.

Last year at this time, we had quotes from these guys saying the baseball budget was unchanged. Now suddenly things are going bad, and it's the reason payroll is down? Not buying it.

It means the damn trust fund isn't as large as it could be from Papa Joe. They're bracing for the spending on the renovations. Who gives a [expletive] what kind of profits there are? Its going towards the renovations. Seems pretty cut and dry honestly. If you'd rather just assume the FO, who has said they'd be transparent from the beginning is lying, go for it. As others have said, you don't deserve this FO. Go be a Dodgers fan, they've got money to spend immediately. And then watch us have a better team with half the payroll in 2 years or less.

I didn't say profits. I said revenue.

But that aside, even if it were true, that'd be a terrible way to run a sports franchise. Slashing payroll and letting the team be terrible is shooting your own revenue in the foot. We're seeing it right now.

Attendance is down every year that Ricketts has owned the team. We're looking at being down 500k-ish this year from 2009. That's a huge revenue drop that didn't need to happen.

If you'd rather just assume the FO, who has said they'd be transparent from the beginning is lying, go for it.

They aren't even lying, really. It's just spin.

"Revenue isn't as high as we'd like, so payroll isn't as high as we'd like."

That's probably literally true, but it doesn't mean they couldn't have rolled out $135 million last year and had a competitive team. And that would have been the smarter thing to do.

Everyone shut up and let him spin in the anti-logic-loop he's trapped himself in.

I'm completely right, and in two years everyone's opinions will mirror what I'm saying now, though no one will acknowledge I was right all along.

You're saying everything; any theory that paints the FO and the ownership poorly for your rant du jour finds its way into your sausage-like fingers.

The MLB standings paint them poorly. I'm just trying to find explanations that fit the facts.
