i hate to give bcb clicks but they admittedly have done a good job of documenting the renovations (at least in terms of volume)

looks like the facade stuff is, in fact, happening now. the exterior of the park (which really looks dumpy as hell aside from the bleacher area) is going to look so much better soon.

With the new deal with Pepsi, how long before there is a Pepsi Porch in the bleachers?

Had not seen that.

We’ve had a productive relationship with the Mets and wish them all the best in the future, but have decided to re-invest in baseball in a different way," the spokesman said.

A report in Sports Business Journal laid out more context to the breakup, noting their relationship with the Yankees and largest investment in the Cubs as a reason for them ditching the National League Champion Mets.

The company renewed their sponsorship of the Yankees earlier this year, according to the report, long before Pepsi could have imagined the Mets would make it to the World Series and the Yankees would lose in a one-game playoff to the Houston Astros.

there's been some talk that with the renovations, wrigley will be going to actual section numbers instead of the aisles (which confuse a lot of people, as i realized when our tickets were in the middle, split across two of them).

anyway, yellon posted this wrigley seating chart from 1978. the non-premium seats (everything but what are now club and field boxes) just had a section letter/number assigned and then the other number is how many seats there were in that section.

i thought it was funny that the distances were metric, presumably from the 1970s metric movement.

Looks like they're gonna opt to do this carbon fiber reinforcmenet instead of ripping up all the concrete

Anyone know anything about this stuff? Minnesotacubsfan is an architect, right?

Looks like a really cool technology/material. As the article states I'm guessing the main reason to use it was to save time which, when considering the scope of the project, could lead to some significant speed up in the timeline.

note where one of the retail spaces (or what was supposed to be) on the ground floor is labeled "broadcast"

wonder if thats gonna be some sort of TV studio. can't imagine they'd put the actual broadcast operations in there (which right now are across the street on waveland),

I would assume it would be one of those glass backed studios for the rubes to stare at with the new network.

I'd pay money to throw stuff at Kaplan.

Oh please NO! Since we're at least 3 years before the Cubs network is up and running, Kappie will be 58+(didn't you see he wanted his recent birthday to be the lead story on CSN) and getting long in the tooth. Plus, he'd have to give up his Sportstalk gig. I just hope he stays away from The Score and stays in the witness protection program(ESPN 1000). My understanding is that it will be studio setup and give access to FO and players for interviews. The Cardinals have their tv broadcast operations across the street in LF, in their ballpark village complex. Doesn't Boston have a similar setup?

That looks like a hospital admin building one would see in a wealthy suburb. But whatever, it will probably look cooler in person and it's better than a parking lot.

that's exactly right. looks like it would fit right in at lutheran general.

maybe some ivy on the exterior would help. a redder brick would help too.

My facade/enclosure company provided some material to the Lutheran General Hospital. Very sexy project from several years ago...

here are larger ones (they're actually even bigger than this...nsbb resizes them)

didn't notice in the first ones that the brick part on the west end looks to be a big sports bar

and i was hoping they were actually going to restore that groundskeepers cottage and get the 35 layers of whitish greyish paint off of it but it looks like it's going to stay that way. maybe it always was but it'd look 1000x better as just brick.
