Pulling for the Jints. I like Eli. Very chill and seemingly humble guy.

Actually I view Brady much the same way and respect his accomplishments, especially since he's a Michigan Man.

Damn it, now I am confused.

Two thoughts:

1) If Brady wins, is he the greatest QB of all-time? If not, who is and where does Brady rank?

2) If Eli wins where does he rank? Is he the most underrated QB of all-time?

Eli Manning strikes me as a whiner who makes that "the reciever ran the wrong route" face every time something goes wrong.

Of all the reasons to dislike Brady, having played at Michigan is not very high on the list but it's still on the list.

If Brady wins, I'd still take Joe Montana.

It seems like the Giants defense gets more credit for the first super bowl win. Also his recievers that made incredible catches at critical times. Whether that's fair or not is open to debate. If the Giants win this one, he'll probably get most of the credit.

Yeah, we all know that QB's get too much credit / blame. My question is, within the ranks of QB's, where would Eli rank?

Yeah, Eli Manning is a bitch.

Think my mom is like the only person in the world who likes him.

I promised myself I'd never like him after he got all butthurt about possibly getting drafted by San Diego and throwing a little bitchfit about it until he got traded.

Eli shouldn't rank all that high IMO. The two playoff runs should count for a lot, but only 2 to 3 regular seasons where he was good to great is a big problem. He still turns the ball over way too much which is part of the reason his team hasn't been that good in the regular season (they've only won more than 10 games once in his career). If he keeps churning out regular seasons more like this past one for 6-7 more years than that would start to shoot him up the list.

Brady was always an overrated guy that somehow developed into an unbelievable QB over the years. He shouldn't get the lions share of the credit for the SB's (barely any for the first run, and some for the next two). But he's been dominant for years now, and really his only flaw is that he makes bad decisions when his team is up in the 4th quarter. Another SB would put him very, very high IMO.

You view Tom Brady as chill and humble?

Relative to the size of his celebrity, absolutely yes.

The only thing standing in the way of Tom Brady being the biggest whiny bitch QB in the NFL is Philip Rivers.

I love Eli and most of my friends do, but we are obviously biased.

As for him "making faces" after incompletions and receivers running bad routes, I think the only QB's that I see NOT makes those faces are Rodgers and Brees. Eli makes pretty much the exact same face as Peyton does. I don't think Eli is a bitch. Dude took a massive amount of abuse last night and didn't ever lose his composure over it. Guys like Brady or Peyton get touched more than three times in a game and they get all bitchy. Eli is up there with Big Ben as far as toughness goes.

The only people that think Brady is chill and humble are Michigan fans.

I do.

Same here. Other than being extremely jealous of him, I've never had a problem with him. Seems pretty cool to me.

For real? Maybe I speak for myself but I only have a tiny bit of regard for Brady because of his Michigan years. It's not like he had a long an illustrious career at Michigan. He was the backup his first 2 years, including the National Title year, had a rather mediocre year at a starter his junior season before finally having a really nice senior season. The Orange Bowl win in 2000 was a nice memory but overall he was never really one of those special Michigan players you remember and favor throughout their pro career (players like Henne, Manningham, and...even....Charles Woodson).

Just reading the quote from this egotistical jerk makes me want to throw up:

“Well, I sucked pretty bad today but our defense saved us and I’m going to try to go out and do a better job in a couple weeks,” said Brady.

Outside of being a long time fan of the Patriots, anyone cheering for the Patriots in this one would generally just have to be a pathological douchebag, IMO. What's really to hate about the Giants? Maybe Eli over the draft day thing but that was eight years ago. I think you have to admire the way they have gone about building their team via the draft. There is no goon the the Giants, they generally are all likeable guys.

Chill and humble?

Cool I get. But chill and humble are not terms I'd use to describe Brady in a million years. He seems incredibly intense and demanding.

Maybe it's spending 10 years in Walmart Wolverine hell, but he's a god among all UM fans I know. Has nothing to do with his time at Michigan. But that school claimed to be QB U for years and he's the only one they can really point to.

How is this persuasive? This isn't his first rodeo. He's not a moron. No ones arguing that.

He is consistent in making this sort of statement. Contrast that with Peyton, who has his moments, but just as frequently implies or directly assigns blame to others. Favre did/does the same thing. The point is that Brady is on par in terms of celebrity with Peyton and Favre, but he, IMO, is easily the most humble (at least publicly).

In terms of his intensity and demanding nature, it plays out in how Brady communicates with the players and coaches in the lockeroom and on the sideline (rather than through the press). That's fine with me. People with good leadership skills do that all the time. Working very hard and expecting the same of your teammates isn't a bad thing.

Someone with an outsized ego probably wouldn't call himself out and praise his defense.

BS. An NFL QB is going to praise his teammates. That media speak 101. Posting a clip criticizing himself to the media isn't particularly persuasive, given his job.

Aren't you one of those Big 10 dropouts though?

Yep, it's quite likely I don't know what humble even means.

That's crap. People say that because he said "we had some protection problems" in the playoff loss to the Steelers in 2006-06 -- but forget to note, he makes the protection reads and calls.

In a game between two teams I don't really care for, I'd rather the team I feel is more deserving(i.e. didn't lose 7 games) win the championship. I can respect the sustained success the Patriots have had even if I don't root for them, the Giants are like the '06 Cardinals.
