My feelings on Emery will take a process to explain, and in explaining them, you will understand the process of my explanation.

Now they are talking about the story that he was telling people that he was going to be the Bears GM and his peers' response was basically "hahaha ok Phil have fun with that..." as if they didn't believe it. The idea that how can this bozo be our GM when his peers don't even believe he should be GM.

Anyways like jersey said he's an easy target. Not a very strong press conference at all but I am not going to judge him until he starts acquiring players.

Boers and Bernstein rip everyone after interviews but they are really going to town on this dude.

I missed the first part of the PC but apparently he just kept saying stuff about having a process or something.

They loved Theo's though.

because they respect him. or at least bernstein does and he tells boers what to think.

Thanks for that.

Someday Boers will leave that show and Lawrence Holmes will replace him and it will be a quite enjoyable show.

i used to hate them so much but they seduced me

I'll give Berstein credit for his view on Paterno, he's got it absolutely right, the Phil Knight speech was disgusting. For him to gloss over and minimize what Paterno choose to deny/ignore and accuse the press of vilifying him, along with that idiot applause after each sentence, was unbelievable. Hell, I thought the press wasn't hard enough on Paterno.

he's on B and B right now.

Stuck at work, and we have pretty much all streaming radio options blocked. If there's anything of note I'd appreciate if you'd post (or someone else).

bernstein asked if he had the authority to fire the coach.

emery said yes.

bernstein asked if he could fire the coach right now.

emery said no.

boers asked if he was going to be the guy and not just a "consensus builder".

emery avoided the question.

bernstein asked him what areas he would address in the offseason.

emery avoided the question.

then emery used the non-word "orientated" and avoided some more questions until it was time to go to break.

Isn't this basically a replay of Angelo? As I recall, JA had to go through the remainder of the Jauron era, then was able to fire him and make his own hire. It was really only then that he became the full GM.

The difference is, Lovie is obviously a much better coach than Jauron. But still. Emery's not really a GM. At least not yet.

Hopefully he can perform in free agency and run a draft. That will make me feel OK about things, if not overjoyed.

I don't even know what this means. We knew the lovie status coming in. He's the gm, the real gm.

how far do you think mike adams will last? walterfootball has us taking him at 19 but that seems like a pretty big reach. if we could come out of the first two rounds with floyd and adams, that would be an unbelievable start.

we may have to trade up in the second, but we have an extra pick in the third, so there you go.

sign jermichael finley, you've added 3 impact starters and bookended your tackle position.

I honestly wonder where this dude would rank on the Bears list if they had just fired Lovie when they fired Angelo.

I could definitely be wrong and I'm willing to wait to find out, but my feeling right now is that keeping Lovie really hurt out chances of getting a great GM

Theo's don't exist in the nfl. There was no top notch candidate they didn't have a chance with.

OK, I just don't like the idea of the Bears hiring someone that is well off the map in terms of GM candidates. Of course they could see something other teams don't see, but I don't necessarily trust Ted Phillips to find a diamond in the rough.

By the way, as badly as I want WR addressed in either the 1st round or with a very solid FA signing, even I would question taking Floyd. Not because of talent, but the 3 alcohol related offenses of his. Not saying I definitely wouldn't take him, but I'd be uncomfortable about it.
