Reggie admits he used to use that move to get fouls. Big whoop. Lots of players used to get generous foul calls, and still do. Michael Jordan was most definitely one of them. Not sure why the conversation has gone on this long.

I'm not convinced OKC has the upper hand. Heat are the team that has been here before. Boston wore down a little but I'm just not sure that's balanced out by a team's first trip to the finals.

That first trip to the NBA Finals sure put the 1991 Bulls, 1994 Rockets, 1999 Spurs, 2004 Pistons, 2006 Heat (first Finals for Wade) and 2008 Celtics at a disadvantage.

Didn't magically give the Celtics an advantage when they went back in 2010.

That's some WSR-level isht right there, Soul.

Didn't even think to go the other way with teams returning to the Finals. 2004 Lakers and 2005 Pistons also lost during a return trip to the Finals in recent years.

The thought of Lebron being given license to avail himself upon the world as its de facto ruler is enough to bring out the severe meatball in me.

Here are a list by order of FTA per game from highest to lowest (top 9 seasons)...

Oscar Robertson: 11.9/11.6/11.2/11/10.7/10.6/10.2/9.7/9.5

Adrian Dantley: 12/11.4/11.3/10.5/10.1/9.9/9.8/8.6/8.3

MJ: 11.9/10.5/9.8/9.1/8.8/8.5/8.2/8/8

Malone: 11.5/11.1/10.8/10.7/10.2/10.2/9.8/9.6/9

Barkley: 11.9/10.1/9.8/9.4/8.7/8.3/8/7.8/7.7

Iverson: 11.6/11.5/10.5/10.1/9.9/9.8/9.7/9.5/9.4

Kobe: 10.2/10.1/10/9/8.7/8.2/8.2/7.8/7.4

Wade: 10.7/10.5/9.9/9.8/9.2/9.1/8.6/8.3/6.6

LeBron: 10.3/10.3/10.2/9.4/9/8.4/8.1/8/5.8

I know MJ got a lot of fouls called for him, but it didn't exactly translate into more FTs than other superstars in the game (whether they were before, during, or after his era). He still shot a bunch of FTs regardless.

I'm in the midst of a stupid debate with a guy who says that if LeBron were to retire after this season (and assuming the Heat win), he'd be a first ballot HOF already.

He should be. He probably wouldn't though.

Watching this makes me remember how much better NBC was at broadcasting these games. Didn't need stupid skits.

Agreed.

Also, is there anyone on the planet less inspiring than Erik Spoelstra?

Yes there is one guy I can think of. Ask tadowdaddy.

i think the storm will be real good this year

I saw a Storm player stuff a pack of cigarettes into her bra and not pay at a convenience store across from Key arena once.

It could've just been a really fit, 6'3 non-player I guess, but I hope not.

Cool story.
