WTF is going on in Orlando?

Van Gundy when asked if @DwightHoward has asked for him to be fired? "I know he has."

— Mike Bianchi (@BianchiWrites) April 5, 2012

"I was told by people in our management," Van Gundy said, according to Orlando Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi. "Right from the top."

Dwight now denying he asked for Stan to be fired. Asked reporters to give up their source. Hey genius, the source is Stan

— Frank Isola (@FisolaNYDN) April 5, 2012

"A few seconds later," reports Josh Robbins of the Sentinel, "Van Gundy asked reporters if he could go and then walked away."

Source close to Stan Van Gundy tells Y!: "Dwight (Howard) has asked multiple times, since last summer, for Stan to be fired...."

Not sure how much truth there is to this...

According to league sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity, Orlando brass got fed up with Howard’s yes-no-maybe posturing and threatened to trade him to the Lakers, not his desired location (the Nets), if he did not sign an agreement to waive the opt-out clause for the final season of his contract. Howard eventually signed the papers, but only after he was told “he would be a Laker by the end of the day,” according to one source.

Do we know why Dwight wasn't interested in going to any of the good teams that were options, but was really excited to tank his career in NJ?

Speculation is that he didn't want to go to LA cuz either a) He didn't like that Kobe told him he'd be the 3rd option in the offense or b) he didn't want to follow in Shaq's footsteps and go from Orlando to LA.

My personal belief in why he doesn't wanna come to Chicago is because of Thibs. If Dwight didn't like SVG, he's not gonna like Thibs.

NJ is offering him power. He thinks he can basically be the most powerful guy there, and be in a huge market to boot.

Agreed. I think out of all of this we have learned that Dwight isn't in to working hard or about winning. He knows that if he comes to Chicago Rose/Thibs are two of the more intense, if not the most intense, guys in the league and winning comes before everything else and they demand you bring it everyday. Dwight just isn't that type of guy. Dwight just really looks like a huge ass after all of this and it's clear he isn't that hard of a worker and doesn't really care about winning.

Going to the Pacers-Thunder game tonight. Can't wait! :stickman:

Pacers pretty much owned that game start to finish. :hello:

I really like Paul George a lot.

Listening to the Scott Van Pelt show the other day, Ryen Resillo said that Howard really just wants to play with his buddies, and most of those guys are barely role players on good teams. So, yeah, he clearly isn't all that interested in winning and would rather things just be fun all the time. Idiot.

Believe it or not there are some players who don't play just to win and they play for fun. Dwight Howard must be one of those guys.

That's fine. But it does in fact mean he's an idiot.

Yeah, what an [expletive] trying to enjoy himself. Anyone who won't play with Derrick Rose is a big meanie.

ETA: There are a lot of big meanies.

I don't think I buy a guy being able to not only make a top level league but be one of the best in that league without taking your job seriously in some capacity. To say that Dwight just wants to have fun is a bit of an overstatement in my eye, the dude clearly works hard.

Bucks get throttled by OKC which was expected to go to 1.5 games back of Philly and New York which would of been only 0.5 a game if "the best team in the East" doesn't choke away their game with New York.

Big game Wednesday against New York at home, hopefully the 76ers keep losing and we beat New York but New York keeps winning so if we do get in we don't have to face Miami in round 1.
