The only thing to be mad about is that he left you without time to sign someone else. You were only going to have him for a year....

i dont even remember the story, but im guessing it was a contentious decommit?

He decommitted basically on signing day after repeatedly telling everyone that he was staying, preventing Illinois from having a chance to replace his decommit.

Thus the irony in being upset about someone telling him he was staying and then turning around and trading him.

And then he went and said Illinois fans were sending him death threats, and when pressed on the threats, told the reporter that they were death threats in the manner that they wanted him to fail at basketball.

Hahahaha

Still a big deal to lose a scholly for a year. This isn't football.

It's been 4 years(5 since the commitment) and this is the NBA thread, it just makes you look unhinged to still be going on about it.

I felt bad for Illini fans though. I felt like that situation set them back as a program. My buddy who is a fan talked proudly of landing Gordon constantly the time he was committed to the Illini. He was their prized recruit that was going to keep the momentum of the 2005 team, remaining a top flight NCAA program even if it was only for 1 year. And if Illinois had a long tourney run that one year, it keeps the recruiting momentum going.

You act like it was just a link to a box score followed by ranting and raving.

It's actually applicable to the story though.

Why were LeBron and DWade both out?

That time of the month and their cycles have synced up finally.

Pretty much.

I assumed it was like Oz and LeBron is his Beacher. Old Vern didnt want his prag playing without him.

they've stitched pockets in Wade's shorts just for that reason

Amazing. DWade needs to let Bronnie shave his head though.

The Pacers go to 6-2 despite their leading scorer going into the night being ranked 41st in the NBA in scoring (and will drop even further after tonight). Granger is leading them and is averaging now less than 15 points a game.

And the Hansbrough assist watch is on. Averaging close to 13 points and 7 assists a game off the bench, but doesn't have a single assist on the season.

he's got a long way to go to top yinka dare.

True, although Hansbrough has already attempted over half the shots in 8 games that Dare did in 58 games. The funny thing about Dare is that he had 144 shot attempts, had 0 assists on the season, and had 72 turnovers! Of course he couldn't get an assist when he was giving the ball to the other team every time he touched it.

He's averaging 0.6 assists per game in his career, and I'm really not sure how he got it that high.

I wish Paul George would stop getting in so much foul trouble.

could the sixers win the east? they seem to be a bit less mediocre than pretty much every other year since allen iverson was good.

I don't see any of the up and comers (Sixers, Knicks, Pacers) overtaking Miami and probably Chicago. But they should all fight with the Hawks and maybe the Celtics for the 3rd spot in the East (or possibly the Magic if Howard is not traded, but it would surprise me if they finished 3rd). After these years of dominance, the East is finally catching up to the West.
