I don't think we need to overreact much here.

Banedon, I may not post much but after reading the board for this many years I've come to respect you. As a mod, how did you write that sentence??

I just saw the Knox injury this morning. Holy [expletive], he's really lucky it wasn't much worse.

yeah, it looked unnatural. as a repeat ankle-sprainer, you hate to see knees and other joints bend in crazy ways, but you know it's a possibility. Knox' injury looked like a video game glitch.

Unless the defense has an enormous game, or someone else comes up huge. this is likely to be a gigantic feast of a beating.

Green Bay is like a 400lb monster taking on a high schooler. There's just such a massive gap in talent between these two teams.

The Packers just played very poorly against the Chiefs and I think it's possible they could struggle again with Jennings out and a thin offensive line. I don't think the Bears have the ability to score much though I kind of have a feeling this will be a low scoring Packers win. Not as big of a blowout as you guys think it will be.

Plus, our offense usually struggles against the Bears defense. I don't think it's going to be a blowout either.

It doesn't have to be 45-10 to be a blowout. The Bears can't score. They are impotent on offense. The QB is going to provide negative points. GB could score just 2 offensive TD and still win by 13.

Based on what I've seen lately, GB could score 2 offensive TDs and win by 28.

Yeah, as much as the line pretty much sucked and all of his receivers pretty much sucked, he sucked just a bit too much for me to ever be excited about seeing him play for the Bears ever again.

That ship has sailed.

Yeah, he stepped into a rough situation, one where a great QB like Cutler had to move all over the place to stay alive, but the bottom line is the guy had 4 years of being under contract to pay pro football and was atrocious in the few games he played. If he wants he could get any high school coaching job he wants or several college coaching opportunities. I wouldn't waste my pity on him.

General manager Jerry Angelo announced Wednesday on the Chicago Bears' team-controlled website that he's never experienced anything like the team's 0-4 collapse since the loss of Jay Cutler.

“Things were going very well," Angelo told the website, referring to the Bears' 7-3 record after a Nov. 20 victory over San Diego in which Cutler broke his thumb. "We were feeling really good about the team and had no reason not to. When we made the switch with the quarterback we knew it was going to be an adjustment. But unfortunately we weren’t able to do the things we needed to do to win games, particularly in the close ones. The thing that’s probably been the most disappointing to me is that we weren’t able to finish and we imploded in some cases.”

Asked where the Bears go from here, Angelo told the website: “It’s where we go every week. Our focus is doing what we have to do to get a win, not sitting here lamenting about what’s happening. We still have two games to go and we want to finish strong. There’s a lot at stake professionally. We put a lot of stock in each and every game regardless of where we are in the standings. Unfortunately, we’re not where we want to be. But that doesn’t mean these games are unimportant and won’t be taken seriously.”

Gotta love how he sidesteps everything thrown at him and manages to find a way to point his finger at something else instead of taking any blame or responsibility for his piss poor management.

"Look guys. The players and coaches have really screwed the pooch. But I didn't. I did good. I mean, what am I supposed to do if the players and coaches mess up? I can't control that!"

Eh. If Cutler doesn't go down, this team sweeps the AFC West with ease. Not sure what else he's supposed to say.

Yeah, this is what I feel as well. Blame Angelo for a lack of depth, but any team will be much worse without their starting quarterback and starting running back. Bears are probably a 12 win team had they stayed healthy. Angelo assembled a very good team, just not a very deep team.

Even if Forte goes down and all the other injuries happen I think they would be looking at 11-12 wins. This was all about Cutler going down. He was the difference.

As much as I'd like to say Angelo and Smith are completely worthless I got to give them a pass on the way the season ended. There's isn't a team in the league that could have overcome losing their QB, main offensive threat and best RB, two OL, who were improving, and in the Seahawks game their top WR. The Houston reference is not applicable, last time I checked Arian Foster is still palying, Andre Johnson is playing and one could argue Yates is an improvement over Delhomme and/or Garcia.

By the end of the year, The Texans will have not had Schaub, Foster, Johnson, and Mario Williams for a combined 28 games. Those weren't only their top offensive stars, those are their 4 best players. The only player of that group who is playing this week is Foster (Johnson is hurt again and has been for a couple weeks now). Then throw in their backup Leinhart also getting hurt for the season and they have had some pretty severe injuries themselves. Yates was drafted 8 spots ahead of Enderle this year.
