you don't understand why people would mind that someone repeatedly mocks recently deceased individuals? that's pretty [expletive] dense.

by the way, the poster in question has consistently been warned to knock it off and was banned over this issue, so apparently some (most?) of the moderators had a problem with it too.

I get why it would bother you that mbc made fun of someone you hold in such high regard. clearly based on your posts on this topic, you think very highly of joepa, despite what's come out about him in the last several months. fine, whatever. What I don't get is why you care if he mocks recently deceased people, generally.

even assuming what you've poste about his moderation history is actually true, how does that change anything? you get this worked up about every warning that's issued? this isn't kindergarten - there's no reason to whine that someone else was being mean to other people.

You can't really be this [expletive] ignorant can you?

I find this appalling. I was not a JoePa fan, and his handling of the Sandusky issue was craptastic, but tue man just died. Let those who were "close" to him pay their respects.

People are going to feel differently about his passing. No one is preventing others from paying respects. This isn't a wake; nsbb isn't a safe haven for paying respects. Both views on Paterno can be expressed without attacking people that feel differently. If posters can't do that, don't post (or accept the warning or suspension that follows).

truffle wasnt "close" to paterno. we're not busting into his wife's home and tearing his pictures off the wall. paterno thought his college program was more valuable than children's lives. he made his bed.

this has to be a joke.

whatever, keep at it. bang up job of moderating the board, as usual.

thanks. as usual, your opinion means the world to me.

do the opinions of people on this board matter to you? because you've compared my using a curse word that you hear in tons of movies, songs and walking down the street just about every day (and which is filtered into [expletive] on this site), with someone who repeatedly mocks the recently deceased.

i can only assume that you didn't earn your law degree by being an abject moron, so i'll chalk this up to intellectual dishonesty.

If you don't like mbc's post about Paterno and other public figures, put him on ignore. We're not going to require that every post about Paterno meet your approval.

You can chalk this up to my disagreeing with you, so you resorting to whining about me being a mod and taking shots at me. I'm neither a moron nor intellectually dishonest. As far as I know, neither are all the other people that disagree with you on this topic.

Chip Kelly to NFL to coach the Tampa Bay Bucs?

University of Oregon football coach Chip Kelly is close to signing a deal with the NFL, a source says.

Kelly is reportedly in the process of finalizing a deal that would make him the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A source close to the situation told KGW Kelly will make the jump to the NFL if he can come to terms on a contract.

Without question. I've heard about both UT and OU getting pissed with the NCAA recently about whats going on there, and passing along the street agents info to them as well.

I don't get my panties in a bunch about that stuff.

It's interesting to see if he'll go full throttle on his scheme in the pros.

There's no way his spread works in the NFL. NFL defenders are too big and too fast.

why not? i can think of several teams who use a similar predominately shotgun spread passing offense to really good success

Kelly's is run heavy with a simple pass scheme and insane tempo.

is it really a lot different than what the Patriots run? or maybe even a hybrid of the Pats and Broncos?

The Patriots are a pass-first offense. Kelly's offense is very run-heavy. Doesn't matter though. Sounds like talks fell apart and he's staying at Oregon.

So I've had several hours to digest the coaching changes at Iowa (Phil Parker promoted from secondary to DC, Darrell Wilson from LB to secondary, Reese Morgan from OL to DL), and I'm starting to make peace with it. I think Parker is deserving of a chance, but new guys always make me nervous. I'm guessing the hole at LB coach will be filled by LeVar Woods.

Now let's see who they hire as WR coach after they promote Erik Campbell to OC. I also wonder how much consideration Brian Ferentz will get for the OL vacancy and whether or not he'd even considering leaving Belichick to work with his dad.

It's crazy replacing both coordinators in one offseason after having the same 2 in place for 13 years.

BK just said the new OL coach comes very highly recommended from Ferentz. And it sounds like there was a lot of disagreement with Warinner about the offense. Really liking that switch now.

ETA - Hiestand came from Tenn, not Iowa, but Ferentz called him one of the best OL coaches he's been around.

It sounds like Iowa is going to hire Greg Davis as their new OC. I know nothing about him aside from some blaming him for Texas' collapse a couple of years ago but I know there are people who know Texas football on here so do they have any insight on him?
