I'm not saying Saban would never leave Bama...he just might. But even Saban isn't crazy enough to jump for a school that's just been involved in a scandal as bad as what is going on in Happy Vallley.

Justin Wilcox and Peter Sirmon leave Tennessee for Washington. This is bad news for the 2012 recruiting class. Dooley's going to have to make some sort of a splashy hire (Kevin Steele maybe?) to salvage this class as Sirmon was apparently heavily involved in a large number of our better commitments.

CBS’ Charley Casserly is reporting that O’Brien won’t be the next Penn State coach. Casserly also writes that 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman was interviewed and that Penn State will take another crack at Boise State’s Chris Peterson.

i can't imagine that psu would stay in-house given that the defensive coordinator who preceded bradley is (allegedly) a serial child molester, but i suppose if you offer the job to 50 people and none of them want it, maybe you have to go with bradley.

Bradley has been at PSU for like 30 years, so it may become an issue of loyalty to the guy

True, though as far as I know, Bradley's name hasn't been linked to the scandal at all so far. Kinda hard to believe that someone who has been with the program for that long hasn't made statements to the grand jury, etc.

What have I been wrong about Ryan? The prediction about last years bowl game being Paterno's last? Yes, I was wrong about that one. I really figured Joe and the others had a clue this $hitstorm was coming and they would try to get out of the way of it, at least as best as they could at that point. I was a bit too early on that prediction. I can admit I was wrong.

 

But the Sandusky investigation I was, sadly, right about and Derwood should be able to vouch for that. Pat Chambers, I was right about. This hire? You're right, I'm just throwing names on a wall but I'm having fun doing it.

I think the point was that "stop believing espn" sounded pretty comical from someone who told us like a week ago that Chris Peterson would be going to PSU, then edited the post days later when it became obvious that Peterson had no Interest.

Look, I made my edit knowing that it was already quoted, so I wasn't trying to be sneaky. It really was meant to be a joke more than anything, since the PSU rumor mill with this coaching search is always changing (look, I edited it again!). Besides, I was never saying Petersen to PSU off of any credible info other than knowing the search committee really wanted him. Just making a friendly prediction, trying to start discussion.
