For years every expert has lauded the strength of the NFC East and AFC East, I wonder when they will start to talk about the NFC North.

The NFC North is dominating the NFC South head-to-head this season. In my opinion the NFC South is the second best division in the NFC behind the NFC North...

Sorry the NFC North is not east coast enough to be a strong division.

That's the right answer.

at least you have guys like Berman loving the "Norris" division. The AFC North is strong as well, but no one cares about the Bengals or Ravens

By default. The AFC appears to be the superior conference this year, at least 2 of the NFC divisions are pretty bad. I don't think the South is that great either. NO is pretty good, but Carolina stinks, Tampa is schizophrenic and I'm not sure about Atlanta either.

McFadden out tomorrow night against San Diego = Chargers by 14+.

Palmer's been bad so far with the Raiders, but losing McFadden hasn't helped at all. They might have still lost to the Chiefs with McFadden but the definitely beat Denver if he plays.

The NFC is 15-11 vs. the AFC. The AFC is not superior. The AFC West is horrible. Most of their intra-division games have been played and that is where many of the teams' wins have come from, against each other. The NFC West hasn't really been able to play each other yet. The AFC South is not good. The NFC East isn't that bad.

Two of the AFC divisions are bad top to bottom. At least in the NFC West has one good team. The NFC East is a bit mediocre all-around except for the Giants, but it's still better than the AFC West and AFC South.

How do you even come close to this assumption?

I might be the only one, but I HATE football on Thursdays.

I'm curious. Why? Is it because the broadcasts are usually marginal at best? Or just not in the mood on Thursday to start watching football?

I usually have it on in the background, but Thursday nights I'm doing other things. I don't hate it, but unless it's a team I care about it's probably not going to receive my full attention.

Co-signed. One of the big appeals of football is that the games are once a week. It's bad enough that there's a Monday Night game, and spreading into Thursday just makes it worse.

College Football is nearly a 7 day a week sport

That's a weird interpretation. I've never heard about a big appeal being only one day of the week for games. There's always been Saturdays and Sundays for football. For a very long time there has been Saturday Sunday and Monday, and for a pretty fair amount of time there has been Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

I hate having my team play on a Thursday without a bye preceding, but I sure as hell don't hate that there is a game on tonight.

And with rare non-conference exception, those games are cash grabs by the MAC, WAC, and other conferences of irrelevance.

And to clarify, I obviously wasn't saying that the sport of football is only played one day a week.

Yeah. I haven't done the math, but it looks like the AFC is the weakest it has been in years. None of the current playoff teams in the NFC have even lost a single game to the AFC yet.

Football is for Saturday and Sunday afternoons. All night games are lame, no matter what night they're played.

There's nothing wrong with a night game, especially Friday and Saturday nights.

Saturday night is great. Sunday and Monday night suck because of the need for sleep before work.

Ok, fair enough. I'm ok with Friday and Saturday night games. I think I could get behind other night games if they'd start them about an hour and a half earlier.

Next 2 Mondays I'll be in Hawaii where the game will be over around the time I'm looking to grab a meal and some beers.

Oh sure, you gotta top my Florida trip...damn you Bob!

Yeah, I wouldn't be cool with games starting at 4 pm here. I already risk missing the start of 5:30 pm games and that's with a really light commute after work.
