i invite you to watch a Steelers game sometime, really any Steelers game, come on

I watch them all the time and enjoy teasing a friend of mine who is all self conscious about how the league treats the Steelers. Even they aren't anywhere near as dirty as the Lions have shown to be.

i really invite you to watch a Steelers game, really any Steelers game, come on

I watch a lot of Steelers games. For whatever reason, they get scheduled out here all the time. But I don't see the cheap plays/players with them at the level I see with Detroit. Sure, everyone hates Ben the Rapist, but that's really about it.

and as far as cheap shots, you didn't see Suh rip Cutlers helmet off? Or Fatty Matty tackle Moore by the helmet? Why do in-game skirmishes follow this team everywhere? I'm sure its JUST coincidence, right?

we've had one this year, yesterday

Suh's tackle of Cutler by the head was nearly identical to the Peppers tackle on Calvin, i could have seen a PF flag coming out for both, but they were more pace of the game than intent

huh, I didn't notice Peppers ripping off Calvin's helmet after he was already on the ground. I'll have to watch the replay.

yea, I'm having trouble remembering that one too.

Oh come on, that Suh tackle wasn't remotely dirty. The Fairley sack, yes, Stafford's facemask slam, egregious. But both Suh's tackle and Peppers' strip were hard tackles just below the helmet.

Peppers wrapped Johnson around the upper chest area. It was clearly not a penalty. Suh made another swing at Cutler and got the helment, they aren't comparable.

right. The tackle was fine. It was ripping off Cutler's helmet after he was down that was dirty.

watch it again, Suh takes cutlers helmet off with both hands.

if you watch the play, it's obvious that he's actually trying to rip his helmet off.

The commish has already had Suh into his office to talk about his play. I'm guessing this crap catches up to the Lions at some point.

The next guy who should be brought in is Schwartz. Because it's pretty clear to me this is ultimately coming from him.

...Schwartz was with Suh, and it was Suh who requested the meeting to get a better understanding behind a couple of his fines

also, lots of psychotic frothing on this page alone, good lord, people

people tend to get touchy when they see a team intentionally trying to injure their franchise quarterback.

it'll be easier for you to understand if/when your team gets one.

if the joke is that the lions don't have a franchise QB because stafford threw a lot of picks yesterday, i invite you to never look at cutler's espn page

i would have guessed that you would have loved last night's snuff film.

and how in the hell does Briggs get a penalty for his hit on the Lions WR?

Refs are kind of bad at differentiating hard hits and illegal hits. There are legit reasons why helmet hits should be flagged. But the Bears are generally a sound tackling team when it comes to those things. A lot of players launch into guys with their helment, so the refs just assumed Briggs did the same thing, when he clearly did not.

"So it's going to turn into if you're going to fine me $40,000, I might as well put him to sleep for real or I might as well blow his knee out."

- Ryan Clark

i'd pull up a bunch of James Harrison quotes too if i thought you might be capable of reasoning with on this matter

really, where were these absurd histrionics when Meriweather ran across the field to spear Burleson in the helmet after the play during the first meeting?

Yeah that would definitely be reaching. That play should never be called a penalty.

Like I said, the Steelers have been dirty. The Lions were worse.

it was a bad call, but it really didn't matter that the refs called the penalty.

Only because it was already a blow out.

all of chicago was calling for meriweather to be benched after watching him run around trying to spear people for 4-5 games.

and he was.

Yeah that was the thing. Everyone just kind of said eh who cares? But it was woefully fitting that the Lions got away (namely Suh) with multiple things while Briggs got flagged for a clean hit.
