McQueary: I totally called the police after seeing the shower rape

State College and University Park Police: Yeah, no

Well, not necessarily. They just don't have any record of a police report being filed. That doesn't mean he didn't talk to them and they just completely ignored it. Not to say I 100% believe him, but with all the other bizarre isht that's gone on in this story, I really wouldn't be surprised if he's telling the truth and they didn't do any follow up.

I agree with you. Hell, I'll even go so far as to say that maybe a police report was filed and it somehow "disappeared" afterwards. With all the crazy [expletive] that has happened with this case, you never know. But I believe McQueary is now lying in an attempt to save his reputation.

I think if my friend leaked an email I sent where I was trying to justify my actions to them (and presumably not to the whole world), I'd be pretty pissed. I guess they thought they were helping him out.

The first things I heard about it was he sent an email to multiple ex-teammates, not just one guy. If you are sending out a mass email, you pretty much have to assume it will get out there. If you send it to one guy and he leaks it to the media, either you wanted him to do it, or he's a pretty crappy friend.

OK, yeah, that would make more sense. I think I heard "friend leaked it" and made the assumption.

i might be late, but i haven't seen this before. the prosecutors in PA were convinced that sandusky was a serial molester, but the big break in the case didn’t come until they read a random online posting on a PSU board about a coach who had kept quiet after witnessing something. then they narrowed it down to mcqueary and confronted him about it and he told them what happened. this makes it sound like it was either common knowledge in PSU athletics, or alternatively, mcqueary has a habit of confiding in the worst friends ever.

Shut up, McQueary, just shut up. You are one of the key players in this case that could put Sandusky away for good. You are losing credibility by the second when people dispute things you're saying now.

Hopefully the victims will be willing to testify and offset any decrease in his credibility.

Apparently his TV interview with Costas so upset some of them that they're coming forward now.

This could turn into a volume case, with a seemingly endless pool of crimes to draw from.

If I was doing a dead pool, Sandusky would definitely be on it.

I keep hearing people in the sports media comparing McQuery to Mark Furman and saying he's going to blow the case by losing credibility.

From what we are hearing, it seems to me like the Sandusky case is a slam dunk. All the victims, the Costas interview, the 1998 account, and even McQuery's account makes this case a given. Even if he did lie about going to the police, he clearly has a motive to lie and say he told the police. He has no motive to lie and say he saw Sandusky raping a boy. Does anyone with an IQ above that of an OJ Simpson juror honestly think that McQuery is making this stuff up just because they can't find a stupid police report?

I think the McQuery stuff has a bigger implication on the inevitable civil suits, because it will speak to how bad the university cover-up was. Because from what we're hearing about the cover up, it looks like the courts and the victims lawyers are going to engage in some serious "horseplay" with the Penn State.

They are going to obviously going to try to discredit McQuery. I wonder if McQuery has positive ID on the kid, as Sandusky's attorney has said that the kid will deny what McQuery has said. If it happened almost 10 years ago, you have to wonder how familiar on a name basis McQuery was at the time with the various kids from Second Mile.

But, even if McQuery doesn't work out, you'd think between the 8 original victims, as well as the additional ones that may come forward, would certainly provide enough evidence.

I'd be surprised if he ever sees the inside of a jail cell. Not because he's innocent-- he's not. He's guilty as hell and will be sentenced to a very long time in prison-- but because he'll off himself before it gets to that point. Really, what are his options at this point? Go to prison in solitary for his protection or kill himself.

He's probably too much of a coward to do the right thing.

More than likely. If that's the case he can slowly waste away in solitary confinement for the rest of his life. You can't put him in with the general population or he'd be killed rather quickly.
