Both Arizona media guys shot it down as well. It ain't happening. It would take a lot more than Garza for me to consider giving up on Upton.

But the DBacks fans still get to boo him, right?

 

Doesn't deserve it and hasn't gotten it since.

 

Crazy how unproductive he's been this year yet still posts a .360 OBP and has been hovering around .270. Need more pop out of him, but trading him right now at his lowest value makes zero sense. They'll eventually trade him, not sure why, the whole "he's lazy, he doesn't care" is all blown out of proportion -- if anything, he cares too much.

Upton was a bit of a reach, admittedly, but if we're dealing them Garza I would hope we'd at least be getting Skaggs back. I don't think we could pry Bauer away, but Skaggs becomes expendable if they obtain Garza, so I would think it'd make sense for him to be the centerpiece of that deal if it happens?

I think he means he didn't throw well at the side session, and Dempster lives in Scottsdale, so its possible he is the pitcher the DBacks are in discussions with the Cubs, as he would probably waive his 10-5 to go there.
