And with that, we cement the dream team FO. I wanted some of you to listen to this as we prepare for the winter meetings and cold winter ahread here in Chicago. I get chills at 1:17 and 3:04 of this video. It's a new day and the process has just begun.

Cheers, Cubs fans.

haha this is awesome.

rickets just bought himself a bunch of cool friends he could never get anywhere near him in real life, with that awkward manner, pasty skin, and doofy haircut.

Uh, I see this as one geek just hired several geeks. TR's background at CBOE, Mesirow Financial, ABN and Incapital gives him total geek cred. He is EXACTLY the type of guy that Theo, et al. would hang out with to talk numbers. TR may be a bit older (thus the haircut disparity) and perhaps is a bit "pastier" but, trust me, geeks don't give a [expletive] about what your tan looks like or how--or IF--you get your hair cut.

I'll take your word for it. 8-)

No hes a businessman who hired top of the line talent to make his company better.

I like the song.

Vedder at Wrigley Field = Heaven

Shudder at what those tickets will cost, though. Cheap seats were like $100 in Minnesota. Can't imagine what they would be in Wrigley.

I don't really think he hired him to be his cool friends. Don't know much about business do you?

Until you start talking prostitues.

Which should probably be legal. But I wouldn't use them.

Not even in a pinch?

This is amazing. Most Cubs fans don't even realize how big of a deal this is. I'm so excited.

Welcome to the board!

Most? I'd say most Cubs fans do.

Most here perhaps. I have yet to talk to anyone in the real world who even knew who Hoyer was.

Oh. I thought this was the Theo thread. Never mind. I agree most don't know who Hoyer is.

I thought I heard this morning that Bush has been let go w/severance. Not a big surprise.

Welcome to the board! They reported on the Score this morning that Bush was let go with a one year severance, but then later said that the Cubs had called and stated that he would actually be staying with the team through this season. They were going to try to get clarification as to what his role would be moving forward.

Thank you for the clarification Laura. I suppose any official news would have to come after tonight's WS game.

On a personal level, I never liked Randy Bush, the several times I ran into him. Didn't know much about him as an exec but from listening to him, would assume he would not gel with the new staff.

They might as well use him for scouting and such. Don't see any need for him to be involved in any decision making of consequence.

A song about our team bringing it home and we have haters? Blasphemy!

Just because a song is written about something you like doesn't make it good.

Song is written in a depressing tone and isn't about bringing it home, its about SOMEDAY winning it all. Someday being who knows how long. "Someday we'll go all the way" is the same thing as saying "Wait til next year"

If you're a pessimist that's how you interpret it. There are an infinite # of ways to enjoy, and interpret music. Something you absolutely hate, is loved by others. Just because you hate something doesn't make it bad. I hear a hopeful yet somber tone in that song. It becomes much more uplifting if you listen to it now, with the whole change in front office we have had.

Wat?

That's one hell of an oxymoron, man.

The song is bad and it's got a depressing tone. I am no pessimist.
