The more I hear about the Eagles, the more I can't wait to play them. I really think that team has more flaws than people think. They might end up with a worse O-line than the Bears this year.

Interesting how only one of the seven picked the Packers to make the Super Bowl.

Not really that interesting at all. It's rare to go back to back and there's a few other teams that are worthy selections alongside them.

Then explain to me why I've heard the word "dynasty" all week.

I don't know, I haven't heard anything of the sort.

There are 3-5 NFC teams that most everybody is predicting to be the leaders, and nobody is the standout. Vegas has their win total at 11, and they won 10 last year.

Tribune is reporting the Merriweather contrat is fairly substantial, with $1m guaranteed and 2.5m salary, which makes him the highest paid safety on the team and would seem to indicate he's a good bet to be starting early.

SI did their NFL media preview talking about all the broadcasting teams, additions, subtractions and all the rest.

Although it's one of those stupid things fans get weird about, I thought it was kind of interesting that ESPN is using a Chicago based reporter this year, so the Bears finally have their own Ed Werder/Sal Paolantonio. No idea who Josina Anderson is though.

Before you get too excited about having our own Ed Werder...this is Josina Anderson:

Yeah. Women like that are God's truly great creation.

Florio and Rosenthal from PFT both predicting the Bears to not make the playoffs.

who did they predict for the WC?

Sorry I never answered this. Rosenthal has the Falcons and Cowboys. Florio has Saints and Eagles (with the Cowboys winning the division).

Did the Cowboys add anyone to a 6 win team? How am I missing the sudden rise to playoff-caliber status? Romo being healthy is enough?

More PFT staff picks.... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/07/the-pft-postseason-picks/

Of the 5 that pick, 4 picked the Cowboys in the playoffs, and the one that didn't had the Lions.

Marion Barber reportedly is out on Sunday. Kahlil Bell will back up Matt Forte.

Another reason to keep 4 RBs. If Bell stays on special teams, the Bears are screwed at RB.

Don't hate the player. Hate the game.

In all honesty, though, it's going to be tough as hell to repeat and it wouldn't shock me at all if the Packers didn't repeat this year, only because it's so difficult to do.

Marion Barber is never healthy. Kind of sucks that we are in the position where Bell is taking potentially important carries for us. I understand that Bell is somewhat valuable on ST, and Barber looked much better running the ball than Taylor in the preseason, but I cant really be surprised that we have issues already

We all wanted Taylor gone. We've had our backup RB's on special teams before. Weren't Adrian Petersen and Garrett Wolfe doing a lot of ST duties when they were backing up Forte?

EDIT: I didn't realize till I looked him up just now, that Adrian Petersen never played again after the Bears released him.
