You know who else was the best player the Cubs had but wasn't much of a leader and was unwilling to do things like bat in a different part of the order? Ryne Sandberg. Well of course he is lazy and doesn't lead. He doesn't jump all over the place and yell at people on the field or in the dug out so he must be a shotty leader. I know because I watch the games and that's all the evidence I need. When was the last time one of these young players was quoted in an article about how they did something wrong and Ramirez set them straight? Ever? If it's not in an article, then it just ain't happening, apparently. Pack your bags and go somewhere that they value homeruns and OPS, Aramis. We need leadership and hustle.

i think this is a fantastic line of reasoning. that quite often in any line of life, jobs or otherwise, people that are not as good blame people that are good for not halving their good-ness and communing it among the others, whether that is possible or not. it is a multifold scapegoat, the best kind for suffering fools like hollandsworth.
