for which year?

The one where we don't blast them. How's our commit list look for '13?

James and Hill don't look like they are dangers to de-commit, and I have a good feeling about Kendrick Nunn.

I'd like to see a big man added to the list, though.

I'm hoping for Parker, but would love Schilling(sp?)

@Ryan_G_Baker: Best Final Four moment EVER. Bruce Pearl walks up to Jimmy Collins & apologizes & says Deon Thomas was the victim. 23 years later #Illini

Too little too late.

By far.

I would like to know what he really said to Collins. Was it a real apology or a "I'm sorry I had to put a kid through that ordeal" kind of an apology. Sort of like when someone says, "I'm sorry you were offended."

If it was real, I wish this would get any kind of media attention--more than just a twitter message that only Illinois boards will notice. Instead, the only time a national media member brings it up is to mention he was just "being a whistleblower and doing the right thing."

i'll tell you this, the hicks downstate will hold a grudge forever because they are absolute yokels.

I'll hold a grudge forever and you should too.

Weber agreed to a 5-year contract, which was approved by the K-State Athletics, Inc., Board of Directors and President Kirk Schulz. Weber will be paid $1.5 million in 2012-13 and will receive a $100,000 base salary increase each year remaining on the contract ($1.6 million in 2013-14, $1.7 million in 2014-15, $1.8 million in 2015-16 and $1.9 million in 2016-17).

He got a better contract than Groce.

Does that get us out of any of his buyout?

Not a dime.

What's going on with Illinois' staff? Saw on the Iowa board that Howard is leaving and Groce is likely to add Robert Smith and Deon Thomas but have no idea if he's full of [expletive].

Jerrance is probably gone. Unlikely that either Smith or Thomas join the staff.

Oh, and lol at Pullen's butthurt. Oh boy, Weber didn't fall all over himself for a guy that ended up a euro league player.

Lots of good college players end up in the euro league. Pullen was a baller.

Wasn't he really stupid or something? I thought there were concerns about either his attitude or his intelligence fitting at Illinois

IIRC he and Carwell didn't get along at all. We took the 7footer.

I really think Carlwell could've been a player too. Raw for sure, but he showed flashes his freshman year that gave me the vapors

Yep, it sucks what happened to him.

gottlieb's public begging for the job was just odd/pathetic. he was on a KC station last week basically bragging about how great he would be, how hiring him would bring a buzz to the program, naming guys he'd hire on his staff, etc. what a weird story.

Purdue or Indiana guys watching this? Pretty high level for an all-star game. Actual defense and moving the ball offensively.

Big Ten guys looking pretty good. Dekker is going to be a stud, Robinson is a really good athlete. Gesell had a couple of sick passes as did Johnson.

Gottlieb is fast tracking his way to Keith Law-dom, passing up cogent thought for pointless contrarianism with increasing frequency.

I have it recording. Will watch it tomorrow at the latest. I clicked it on when I got home for a second and saw a Johnson no look pass and a Dekker drive and dunk.

This is what I figured:

"Pearl said his Friday apology wasn't for what he did, so much as for the unfortunate circumstances it brought about."

Well, now we're about to add Chris Lowery as an assistant. So 2 loser coaches is better than one???? I do hope they bring in Gottleib as an assistant and give him a shot. I was not at all worried that they'd make him the HC, but as an assistant, I think he'd be a great recruiter due to his family recruiting ties and his recognizable face from ESPN. They have to do something with the deadbeats we've brought on thus far to get players to KSU.

i don't know that gottlieb would want to be an assistant or that weber would want to hire an assistant that was openly/pathetically begging for the job.
