Last year everybody jumped on Big Z for his bad temper and implosions, and talking about trading him away for garbage. All I gotta say is you ignorant baseball fans better not even try to come back to the Big Z support wagon when he tears up the league this year, and is a cy young candidate. I don't know how you can't blame him for going off on his lazy, defense challenged team last year. That defense and offense was a joke last year and I would be pissed to if I worked my butt for only my team to suck it up. So I'm drawing the line in the sand right now, you are either with Big z or against him. Because once the season starts I don't want to see you crawling back to my side you fair weather fan, we don't want you. This year is a new Z and he is energized, motivated, and on his game more than ever. He will be a top pitcher this year, and will make all you haters eat your words. Zambrano will no longer be your scapegoat, if you want one go after someone go after A-ram who is lazy and the only way you can motivate that bum is thru contract years. Now thats a cancer that the cubs must get rid of. Give Zambrano the respect he deserves you spineless fair weather fans, he is the MAN. By the cubs will win it this year, call me crazy if you like, I dont care.

Put me on the side firmly against Z. I sincerely hope he has a great first half and gets traded. The guy is an embarrassment to the game. I realize that I'm going to get ripped for this, especially on this board, but I've grown tired of his act. It's one thing to pitch well and be a jerk. It another thing entirely when you pitch like crap and climb all over your teammates for not doing their part. I'll completely agree that the bullpen experiment last year was a terrible decision.

 

Oh and look, another "lazy Ramirez" comment. Haven't heard that for a while.

3.33 ERA/3.71 FIP/4.42 xFIP/2.4 WAR

 

He's overpaid by those numbers, but he certainly isn't pitching like crap. His ERA has never been above 4.00 and his xFIP has 4.45 only once. He's not been the amazing ace we thought we might have his first couple of years, but he's been a very good pitcher overall.

 

Oh and look, another "lazy Ramirez" comment. Haven't heard that for a while.

If the Cubs are playing well, and they have a chance then you want Zambrano on your team. If they fall back early you want to distance yourself as far as possible from him. I love to watch him play baseball because he is entertaining, but would I build a team around him? Not a chance! I would much rather have Aramis Ramirez as a cornerstone. The first five years he was great for the Cubs, and the last two he battled injuries and still put up 25 HR's last year. Even with his down years I would bet not to many other 3rd baseman over the last 7 have put up better numbers then him.
