I like PSU in there, and I'm indifferent on USC v. UNM v. UGA.

One thing that jumps out to me is that we have Illinois as a 9, most everyone else has them down as an 11. Do we have them overseeded because of so few entries that included them?

So an 8-9 game of Illinois-UCLA might be possible? If so, we can see which team is more willing to take the air out of the ball.

Might just be better off using a women's ball if you are UCLA

Oh, I can't believe I forgot this. Mizzou/Old Dominion was a regular season matchup this year, so we need to swap one of those out.

So was KSU/VT. While I'd love that matchup again, I have a feeling we get Illinois, Michigan, or Michigan State in rd 1.

Someone who knows more about seeding than I do, is there any chance at all that Michigan could be headed to Chicago for their first round games? I know its probably not likely, but I don't know if its pre-determined which seeds will go where. Obviously michigan is looking at a 10-11 seed, 9 at very best. I'm just curious if I should start browsing stub hub.

Maybe Im reading the brackets wrong, but Chicago only has 1/16, 8/9, 5/12,4/13 matchups. They don't get any of the 10 or 11 seed games.

ok so unless the committee feels very positive towards michigan and gives em a 9 (or feels negative and gives them a playin game for 12 seed), it wont happen.

Right. Id say its highly unlikely they get a game in Chicago. Id think they'd have to be considered the best 9 seed to give them a game that close to home, and if they get a 12(doubtful) Id be surprised if the committee gave them a game close to home.

Well, Those are the pods that we assigned to Chicago, it doesn't necessarily mean it will end up that way. If a 3 seed gets sent to Chicago, then an 11 seed will go there. Problem for Michigan is, the most likely 3 seed to go to Chicago is Wisconsin, which would preclude Michigan from being in that pod.

Gotcha. I was actually going off Lunardis bracket as to what seeds went where.

Michigan would only go to Chicago if they were a 10 in Notre Dame's 2 pod (or a 9 in their 1 pod). Obviously they can't go with Purdue or Wisco to a Chicago pod.

I'd be surprised if the NCAA allowed that kind of home-court advantage for UM, but they've allowed weirder short-distance trips before.

Swap ODU and Michigan State, swap Virginia Tech and Michigan, swap in PSU for BC. Call it a bracket?

i can already feel a second round matchup vs utah st, and it's making me angry.

You would beat Utah State by 30. They may be the most overrated team in the field.

EDIT: Also, you don't have to worry since Utah State hasn't won a tournament game since the Truman administration or something like that.

How the hell does Texas get a 4 seed? Throwing them in with Duke and San Diego St helps a lot but still a 4 seed.

Assuming they beat Oakland.

And Florida gets a #2 seed?

No, I think we should just leave them at 9.

I don't even want to score the bracket this year, it's like they just rolled dice to determine seeds 6-12.

In hindsight, Colorado's RPI profile was absolutely terrible, should've been a tipoff that they weren't on the at-large list. RPI of 76 with an RPI SOS of 73.

Really, Saint Mary's was the screwed team from all this.
