speaking of Soto, I saw he wasn't on MLB Network's Top 10 Catchers list, yet Carlos Santana was. Lame.

I love MLB network but their rankings are stupid, the fact that the analyst that present the show do not even agree with these rankings is pretty bad. Soto should have been between 4-7 on the list, i personally would have had him at 5th. Picking Molina, Santana, Buck, Wieters and Ruiz over Soto is BS. Posey is also another guy who has to do it over a full season to earn a higher rank if you ask me.

If you had a gun to your head and was asked "Who will have a better season this year, Carlos Santana or Geovany Soto?", what would you answer be?

Does the person holding the gun know the right answer? How?? Would he be willing to replace Hendry?

For real. That really does freaking hurt.

The previous season those five guys averaged 15 wins, 3.36 ERA, and a 133 ERA+ between them. Freaking damnit.

I kind of got over 2004 when 2008 happened and we had an awesome offense that drew walks and hit for power and almost 100 wins.

It's too bad the playoffs are a freaking crapshoot.

This is supposed to be a happy pics thread. Doesn't someone have a ban hammer for this kind of stunt?

We do, but that picture doesn't piss me off. It just makes me sigh wistfully.

It just reminds me that the Giants and Phillies could turn into, well, us, within four months.

The Cubs have scored 800 runs just twice since World War II. The 2008 Cubs (855) and the 1998 Cubs (831). By comparison, since 1998, the Astros and Cardinals have done it 13 times combined.

wtf? The 1998 offense was really that good?

I'm speechless.

off the top of my head... we had lance johnson, mickey morandini, sosa, grace, henry rodriguez, jose hernandez, servais, and some crap at 3b (leo gomez or dave madigan or something??) that was replaced by a month or two of lightning in a bottle with gary gaetti

i guess it wasn't that bad
