The offense will continue to be a disjointed mess as long as Jay isn't throwing perfect balls through one foot windows to these midget WRs who are utterly incapable of getting separation against good DBs who are paying attention.

you better shut up about this or gooney is going to end you. just a warning.

What? I haven't done anything wrong. Why you giving me a warning and gooney gonna end me?

If Cutler really did have a torn ACL, then fine I can see that. I just hope it's not a knee sprain or somewhat minor knee injury. Does anybody for a fact yet that it was indeed a torn ACL or what? I mean he should've went to the hospital then instead of standing/walking/sitting on the bench with his head down and looking like he's pouting... It just shows him in a negative way for everyone to see.

knee sprains can be very painful and can prevent a qb from getting any sort of push or plant with the damaged knee. plus if you keep playing on a badly sprained knee you increase the chances that it gets completely shredded.

as for his attitude, of course a very competitive player who's one of the team leaders is going to be upset that an injury is preventing him from playing in a really important game. and he was talking to hanie, it's not like he sat on the bench and flipped off his teammates.

jersey, i don't care what anyone says in this thread, the bears are going to be alright. we were a final four team this year, and the defense has a couple good years left in them. cutler will come back and do his thing next season and everyone will forget about this crap. breathe, my friend.

W.... T..... F....

Sulley optimistic? My brain just exploded.

an ACL tear is a knee sprain. but it sounds like you know more about this medical mumbo jumbo than i do, so i'll defer to your expert medical analysis.

I meant it like it's not a tear ligament. That's why I said or somewhat minor knee injury. That's what I think of when I hear the word "a sprained knee or knee sprain". Torn ACL/PCL/MCL of any kind (whether it's a small tear or totally torn) is usually a major injury. MCL or PCL isn't as bad as ACL.

you said "knee sprain" which could mean a lot of different things and is totally vague. he came back out and gave it a go, he couldn't do it and was risking more of an injury to himself, if the bears' staff allowed him to keep playing, they could have risked a major recurring issue with their franchise.

players miss games with sprained knees all the time.

I think so as well... Angelo does need to draft several OLs in the draft though. Cutler can be very good if he has a good OL in front of him. Would be nice to get a big possession #1 WR though, but it's not as needed as the OL. That and if he didn't have to learn a new offense every year either. If everything stays the same next year, I can't see the Bears having the same record (had a lot of luck/breaks this year that went their way), but can't see them being worse than 8-8 though.

I'm wondering what games (esp. against GB) you've been watching where a good WR would be a nice luxury and not an urgent, gaping need. It's a huge, huge problem.

Hester has caught like 2 balls for 30 odd yards or something against the Packers this season. Knox isn't much better.

And yeah, I've been a huge Maynard hater over the years but he basically got his act together over the last half of the season until today. This is low hanging fruit that needs to be corrected. The hidden yardage in the punting game today was hugely in GBs favor.

Aren't all knee ligament tears basically called knee sprains until the MRI comes in?

yes.

Haha alright then. I'll shut up about that. I usually hear someone say "knee sprains" or "torn ligaments" like it's 2 different things.

He got his act together because the Bears were getting great field position due to their special teams, so Maynard was asked to do what he does best, which is directional punting.

Also, there were a lot of disapointing performances on defense today (hello, entire d-line), but Urlacher stepped up and had a great game. Obviously he had that interception, he had a hand in stopping a lot of running plays at the LOS or behind, and I believe he had a sack as well. He is one of the few Bears players that bettered his standing in the eyes of Bears fans today.

Truffle is right. Twitter is proving how idiotic everyone is. If every fan and every analyst and every football player is such a medical expert, why the [expletive] can't I understand half of what they say on Twitter?

Forte and Urlacher came to play today.

I remember saying that in 2006

I thought Urlacher was fairly awful in the first half. He whiffed on several tackles and took the wrong gap trying to stop the TD run. He definitely stepped up in the second half, though.

Agreed. Tim Jenning sucked ass all game. I said when he was signed that he was the worst CB in the league in 2009. He had a good season, but you can't change a leopard's spots.

Jennings has got to go. No way he can be the #2 CB on this team (especially with Tillman aging).

he hit the quarterback in the helmet, that's always a penalty now.

and he wasn't the only bear to hit him in the helmet on that play, someone else whacked him with a hand from the other side.

Yeah, if you guys want a laugh...read some of the training camp reports from 2007. We should've put up 40 points a game based on them.
