Reverse on 3rd and mother [expletive] 3 with under a minute left? And they called a timeout on top of it with a dead clock? Horrible [expletive] coaching.

Can't agree more.

Well this game was weird as hell. Played about as poorly as we could and to keep it this close. Defense played its heart out. Hanie gave us a weird spark at the end.

Ugh.

Cannot wait to hear the endless sports callers calling for Hanie as the starter.

Well, I'm not going to be one of them, but if I was Chicago, I would take a real long hard look on Cutler, and what to do about him from here on forth.

That guy is starting to remind me of Jeff George.

The coaching was clearly not there, obviously. But we were also clearly the less talented team out there as well, and we've been overperforming our talent level all season. I understand the desire for some more outlandish offensive playcalling but it just wasn't the right kind of outlandish playcalling.

The big thing for next year that I take out of this game is we need a new punter. We got killed on field position.

Didn't think they'd be in the NFC Championship when the season started. Didn't think we'd be in Packers territory trying to tie it w/under 1:00 left and a 3rd string QB. Exceeded my expectations all year long.

i'm not for moral victories. we should have won this game.

So was the fact that Hanie's intended receiver was being tackled to the ground as Shields intercepted legal somehow?

I also liked the guy tripping Olsen up leading to a "intentional ground"

Yeah, that ended up being huge.

Maynard was fine all year, but he did not have it today. He was bad against Carolina in 2006 too.

Sports to me have turned into whatever the media really wants, the better story wins out unless the other team is just so good the officials can't sway the game.

Actually he had no leg all year. He was decent at pinning people back but he has no distance on punts anymore, and hasn't for several years.

You're definitely right which is amazing considering how good the return aspect of our game is.

There are actual sports experts out there tweeting that they think Cutler is done in Chicago after today.

I want to go on a sports expert rampage.

Not sure what it is with Maynard & postseason games.

But for me it's simply a matter of age. He's old now, and there's got to be a decent younger leg out there who can outperform him.

Maynard has been brutal all season. Where have you been?

You're saying that you're content with Culter as your QB?

He's got a reputation as the best directional punter in NFL history.

Apparently it's only as long as the direction isn't forward.

I'm not paranoid enough to feel this way, but the front office and coaching staff have to learn to build teams based on how the game is officiated nowadays.

I'm embarrassed that the quick hitting slants and such was only busted out as the game was out of reach. We should have been doing that all day long, like the Packers were doing (When Rodgers was completing passes)

The league doesn't want you playing defense. So build some good offenses.
