BTW, I'm sure this is obvious to everyone but the Bears can clinch a 1st round bye this week with a win over the Jets, and a Eagles loss to Minnesota. Not likely to happen I know.

Also obvious to everyone, but while the Bears can clinch a 1st round bye this week, they cannot be eliminated from it this week no matter what happens. Unless we clinch that bye this week, we will have something to play for in week 17. Unless of course the Falcons lose this week too.

To clinch the bye, the Packers would also need to beat the Giants.

Was just coming to correct that.

Mike Lombardi said on Simmons podcast that he doesn't see how Jets can lose this game. They recorded this before last night and Simmons said the Bears can't score 35 points. They also said Jets can win low scoring games but Bears can't. The Jets have lost 10-9, 9-0 and 10-6 this year.

I do not understand their thinking here. The Jets are no more of a pass rushing threat than Philly yet they claim the Bears stand no chance of blocking them. The Jets don't rely on big plays, and can nickel and dime the Bears a little. Plus they can make life tough on Cutler. But I don't see any reason why Chicago can't beat the Jets, and I thought that long before last night.

I'm glad to see you finally caught up to the Simmons podcast

The Jets also can't rush the passer without blitzing, which the Bears have beaten pretty badly.

Any female Bears fans attending the game should go without shoes.

http://deadspin.com/5715741/this-may-or-may-not-be-rex-ryans-wife-making-foot+fetish-videos

There's a celebrity in the foot-fetish world who posts videos with titles like "Hot Mature Sexy Feet." The videos feature a woman who looks like Jets coach Rex Ryan's wife, Michelle — and, in one, a man offscreen who sounds like Rex.

But the connections only begin with surface resemblances. We found "ihaveprettyfeet"'s personal profile on a foot fetishist dating site. She lists her location as Ellicott City, Md. When Rex Ryan was an assistant coach with the Ravens, his profile on the official team city had him living with his family in Ellicott City, Md. Michelle Ryan was born in August 1963, a Virgo. "ihaveprettyfeet" lists herself as a Virgo. Michelle Ryan taught high school English before retiring to raise her kids; "ihaveprettyfeet" has a graduate degree, is married with kids, and lists herself as a homemaker.

I've gotta drive to stateline (Nevada) on the 26th, so I'll have to do so before the 10am games. Gotta be in the sports book by the start of the Bears/Jets. We're going to see the Commodores and Morris Day later that night.

I haven't figured out if Morris Day is singing with them these days or opening for them.

Dude that sounds like the greatest day ever! I'm assuming Morris is with them if Lionel Richie isn't.

The father in law got 4 tickets just by having a players club card at this particular casino at state line. He asked us if we wanted to go. The casinos are fun enough, but the show should be as well. It looks more like Morris Day might be opening for them, but I haven't been able to find out for sure. I'm pretty certain Lionel won't be with them. Either way, should be able to get a groove on.

And while LT was finding some decent holes early in the season, isn't he looking a bit worn down late in the season?

I think it's safe to call Chester Taylor a bust for us this season...

After 11 carries netted 5 yards Monday night, Taylor now has 252 yards on 105 carries this season. If that 2.4-yard average holds up, it would be the lowest for an NFL runner with at least 100 carries since the 1970 merger.

He has 92 yards in his last 61 carries. That makes Brandon Jackson look like Barry Sanders.

Bell needs to become the second string back. Taylor is hurting the team.

The funny/sad thing is, he thinks that Cutler is actually perceived as an elite QB. I think most media people believe he's in the million dollar arm/ten cent head category. I personally see a QB that has all the tools and is in the process of learning how to put them together, which has to happen slower than normal because of his teams offensive limitations. He's not in the Manning, Brady, Brees, but I wouldn't count him out eventually as a best case scenario.

That was one of myriad things wrong about that article. Who the hell thinks Jay Cutler is elite? And who would take Mark Sanchez over him?

Terry Bradshaw would take Sanchez.

I think Cutler is right there with the elite. If he had some better offensive weapons and played in a dome I think he could put up monster numbers.

Hey Wilson, when did you start writing for a Jets blog?

The Fake Franchise Quarterback

Meatheadedness defined.

Cutler's teams always underperform. Yea, because everyone predicted the Bears to win the North this year.

it's shameless how some idiot can come out and write that the day after cutler leads his team to a division title. and he did lead the team.

and, sorry, it's meatball.

i agree. i think he's a bit of a narcissist in that he thinks he can make all the throws and that sometimes gets him in trouble, but he's a qb in the mold of favre, not brady or manning, and that's part of what makes him worth having. i just wish he would temper his risk-taking, learn to refine his confidence so that he still takes shots, but doesn't throw hopeless, impossible passes.

imagine what he could do if he had greg jennings on this team.

Sully. He had the tools to be elite, but I don't think he will ever get there. But I still think he can win a Super Bowl and that is really all I care about. I don't know if this is true, but the Boers and Bernstein show has been pointing out that they don't think Jay works as hard in the film room as the other elite QBs.

The best part is that torching the Jets on Sunday would elevate him to franchise qb status.

no jason goff and terry were implying that, bernsy was asking what it is that they think specifically he doesn't do that coaches tell him to do and they either couldn't or wouldn't give him an answer.

it's a meatball idea, in that it is a non-idea. people think he's lazy but they won't say why they think so.

bernsy is right, it's his risk-taking, not his work ethic. nobody who isn't at practice or there with him in the film room can say that, so people who say it think that they know what they're talking about but what they're really just talking about is creationism.

Well, if my aunt had balls...

It's more like, if your aunt stopped dressing your cousin up as a girl and making him play with dolls he'd look more like a boy.

That may be one of the best analogies I've ever seen. Although I think you switch out dome for an O-line that isn't awful.
