I'm kind of annoyed by all the "who ever would have thought the Bears could contend or win 10 games this year" talk. The Bears had the upside for 10 or more wins all along. The only people who can't realize that are the ones who insist Jay Cutler is horrible. He's a really good QB on a team that finally went with an NFL coaching staff. 10 wins was well within reason, and 11-12 shouldn't be that surprising.

I think a lot of my concern came from the fact that I didn't think Cutler would make it through the season as bad as the line was expected to be. I'm fairly surprised they've come out as well as they have. The 2 early wins against the Packers and Cowboys were a bit surprising.

Any and all concern was completely justified. This team could have fallen apart. But the ability to win a lot of games was always there and that is why I don't get people acting shocked that the Bears have 10 wins and already clinched.

The only part of that I disagree with is the already clinched simply because both the Packers and Vikings were expected to have much better records than they do. The Vikings are just bad, but the Packers have clearly been killed by injuries and would probably have a couple more victories if not for all the guys they've had out.

why don't all of your words have multiple o's?

I'm taking sedatives to relax that particular finger.

By the way, the word is losing, not loosing in case you missed his point. :-"

Boob Sanders tried to point that out, thank you.

Any chance this game will get moved to the 3:15 slot? It is by far the best game of CBS' lineup.

No, it's too late now.

Has to be 12 days until week 17, then they can announce 6 days in advance. Also, I think Fox is getting the doubleheader games, and NYG/GB is filling that hole.

I agreed to goto Cincinnatti for XMas. No I'm not going to see any musicals or anything. I'm getting up at 8am to drive home because CBS is only getting 1 game and the Bengals are hosting a AFC team at 3:00.

I was more optimistic before the season started. Once I saw the OLine in action I had visions of 4-12. So happy I was way off. The only bad part about this great season is that Lovie will get a new contract.

I've gotta drive to stateline (Nevada) on the 26th, so I'll have to do so before the 10am games. Gotta be in the sports book by the start of the Bears/Jets. We're going to see the Commodores and Morris Day later that night.

I haven't figured out if Morris Day is singing with them these days or opening for them.

Dude that sounds like the greatest day ever! I'm assuming Morris is with them if Lionel Richie isn't.

Are the Packers going to make the playoffs? Don't they have to leapfrog over the Saints and Giants? Do they own any tie breakers on those two teams?

Even if this game is a letdown potential, won't we still rise up against the Packers if it means keeping them from making the playoffs AND potentially securing a bye? Will Rodgers be back for either of their last two games?

The Packers need to win out to make the playoffs OR they can lose to the Bears if the Giants lose out and the Bucs lose 1 of their 2 games.

So if the Packers beat the Giants next week, and the Bucs lose to the Seahawks, the Packers will need just a Giants loss to Washington OR a Packers win over the Bears to get in. If the Bucs beat the Seahawks this week, they will need a Giants loss to Washington AND a Bucs loss to the Saints OR just a win over the Bears.

Hopefully the Giants-Redskins game is at noon next week while our game gets moved to 3:15 so I know whether or not to be stressed before kickoff.

I just hope next week even matters for us.

I would guess that Morris is the opening act.

BTW, I'm sure this is obvious to everyone but the Bears can clinch a 1st round bye this week with a win over the Jets, and a Eagles loss to Minnesota. Not likely to happen I know.

Also obvious to everyone, but while the Bears can clinch a 1st round bye this week, they cannot be eliminated from it this week no matter what happens. Unless we clinch that bye this week, we will have something to play for in week 17. Unless of course the Falcons lose this week too.

Bears don't clinch bye: Something to play for

Bears clinch bye and Falcons win: Nothing to play for

Bears clinch bye and Falcons lose: Slim chance of HFA, something to play for

huh?

1. Bears win + Falcons loss = 1st round bye

2. Bears loss + Falcons win = Bears still alive for 1st round bye

3. Bears win + Falcons loss = Bears still alive for #1 seed

To clinch the bye, the Packers would also need to beat the Giants.

Mike Lombardi said on Simmons podcast that he doesn't see how Jets can lose this game. They recorded this before last night and Simmons said the Bears can't score 35 points. They also said Jets can win low scoring games but Bears can't. The Jets have lost 10-9, 9-0 and 10-6 this year.

I do not understand their thinking here. The Jets are no more of a pass rushing threat than Philly yet they claim the Bears stand no chance of blocking them. The Jets don't rely on big plays, and can nickel and dime the Bears a little. Plus they can make life tough on Cutler. But I don't see any reason why Chicago can't beat the Jets, and I thought that long before last night.
