I think he used to be the OC at NU in the early 2000s.

Yeah he worked for Randy Walker at both Miami OH and NU. Which also means he got to work on the same staff as Terry Hoeppner while at Miami so I'm hoping some of Terry's enthusiasm rubbed off on him. I just hope Kevin is able to find a good DC too.

Ron Zook used to be a DC.

Greg Davis finally stepped down yesterday as the OC for Texas. UT wants Gus Malzahn but that probably won't happen unless he can't find the HC job he wants and we double his pay which is possible. Bryan Harsin of Boise St. appears to be the next guy on the wish list.

If new evidence were to surface in the Newton scandal causing AU to receive any type of sanctions, I imagine Gus would definitely jump ship. Even if new evidence doesn't surface, Gus could potentially still make the jump to Texas...Chizik and Muschamp certainly did. I think he'll probably accept a head coaching job this offseason though...would Miami make him an offer maybe..? I don't think he'd accept the Vanderbilt job.

OU will probably promote a position coach to take his spot. An interesting rumor out there is that Wilson is taking OU OL coach James Patton with him and Mark Mangino will become the OL coach at OU.

As for Wilson, well, when you find talent like Sam Bradford under rocks, run somewhat creative offenses, and coordinate the best scoring offense ever like he did in 2008, you deserve a head coaching job. He's a good coach.

And will he accept an offer prior to the game? Will other schools wait that long too?

Some Pac-10 folk seem to think Harbaugh is going to Michigan.

Last I had heard Harbaugh had an extension offer in front of him at Stanford and was on the verge of signing it.

The AD claimed he was planning on accepting it. He's making 1.25 right now, curious as to how much the raise would be.

The question is whether there's any sort of non-compete clause in that contract. I kind of doubt it.

The Michigan situation is going to play out beginning in early January. There probably isn't a reason for Harbaugh to sign anything before his bowl game, which is 2 days after Michigan plays. Both sides should have a pretty good idea of what is going to transpire by the end of that 1st week in January.

And if he really likes the West Coast the 49'ers job could be opening up too come January to your point on waiting.

Minnesota's contract with Jerry Kill is heavily incentivized:

$150,000 for a Big Ten title

$150,000 for playing in the BCS championship game

$100,000 for a division title

$100,000 for a Capital One or Outback Bowl appearance

$50,000 for 5 Big Ten conference wins

$25,000 for each Big ten conference win beyond the first 5

And more for things like graduation success.

Non-compete clauses aren't allowed in California

Sounds like Pitt is firing Wannstedt

Technically he resigned. He'll be staying in the athletic department.

One more possible destination for Rich Rodriguez if he's out at Michigan.

Not that Harbaugh would sign a contract with one, but with the potential jobs open at the NLF and college levels, it's hard to see him staying more than another year or two even with a new contract, especially if Luck goes pro.

I wish Michigan's AD would just make a move one way or the other already. This situation has become unbearable. I can only imagine what Rich Rod is going through right now. Poor guy.

Kevin Wilson is interesting. Hopefully, the Oklahoma experience shows that he can groom QBs and WRs. He also is a former OL coach, so that's good too. The only problem is IU hasn't had any problem at QB or WR in recent history. And the OL has produced a few NFL players. I really would have liked a defensive coach (Wisconsin DC was interviewed I think). But I can't fault a team for bringing in a high caliber assistant (08 assistant coach of the year) from a National Championship caliber team.

The PITT job is a very attractive one, IMO. Someone's going to be bringing back a decent pro-style QB. Two NFL caliber RBs. Even if Baldwin goes to the NFL, they still have 3 very solid WRs and a good TE. And they'll have 3 of their OL starters back. They lose some guys on D, but they are at positions where they have decent backups. And they have a top 25 recruiting class again.
