I hate UCLA "football".

How can Neuheisel not recruit better quarterbacks to UCLA? I don't get it.

He's gotten a few 4 star QBs but they haven't developed. One of the biggest disappointments under Neuheisel. Hell, quartebacking has sucked over the last 12 years at UCLA.

I'd think most folks know that Auburn fans don't support this type of stuff and that this isn't how y'all want to be portrayed.

what school's fan base wants to be portrayed as supporting a reckless bunch of money-grabbing cheaters? i mean other than Southern Cal.

sources say that the McGregor FBI wiretaps don't link him to Cam Newton. That would shoot a gaping hole in that middle of that tigerdroppings post. I have no clue what will eventually be found one way or the other. Per my understanding, there still is nothing out there that is a known fact that will even cause Cam to be ruled ineligible retroactively...although that could change at any moment...and this is the most smoke I've ever seen associated with a sports scandal.

I don't think most fans want their school to be portrayed that way. I am not sure most fans are really against it though if it will help the team win.

I can tell you firsthand that I'd rather be rooting for a borderline top 20-25 team this year than rooting for a team that could potentially win the national championship and then have those wins vacated. The Auburn offense has been even more fun to watch than the '04 team's offense. However, I'd rather be dreaming of the future and what could happen next year rather than looking over my shoulder and waiting for the other shoe to drop. Having a cross state rival whose fans are generally obnoxious isn't something that helps in this type of situation either. Even if Auburn is miraculously cleared of wrongdoing, I haven't been able to enjoy the season.

I think you misunderstand me. I don't think fans want to get caught either. I guess I am basically saying I don't think most fans really want to know what it takes to win, as long as they win.

You get to college and this seems to be the most liberal place ever. I remember telling that to my dad and he said, that’s just how colleges are. I don’t know how other colleges are, but when you walk around here, you’ve got people . . . you’ve got guys walking around in dresses. I’ve seen and hippies. They’re doing nothing. There’s the Ped Mall area down there. Right in the middle. Those people are going nowhere. Those people are the people who don’t like America. They always find something wrong with it. They’re the problem. They’re the people who need to change and figure it out. They need to get it together and work hard. The people who are doing things right and working hard, they don’t complain because there’s no point in complaining. When something happens to you, you take it on the chin and keep moving forward."

Really this just needs to be a BTN production or else it will suck. Unfortunately the BTN doesn't really have any good game crews right now.

After watching Michigan vs Purdue on the BTN last week that had Chris Martin and some random other person announcing, I ALMOST yearned for Joe Buck. I think all of the BTN football announcers are pretty awful, and last week's game was the first one I'd watched on BTN that didn't miss 7-10 plays during the game because they were showing replays/highlights. I love having the BTN, but they're pretty far behind even FOX, which sucks at everything sports, in terms of production.

Also, re: Fans thoughts on teams cheating. I think it depends greatly on the quality of the program. Michigan basketball obviously went through some of the worst of paying players with the Fab Five and Tractor Traylor later in the 90s. Even knowing that would happen, I'd go through it again because it so exciting to watch those guys play. However, I think this is mostly because Michigan basketball hasn't really been an all-time great program. 1 title, some decent teams with Cazzie Russell, and that's basically it. There isn't a great legacy to tarnish. Switch it to Football, and I wouldn't take 1 extra win in any season if the reason was boosters paying players/etc. No on-field success would be worth tarnishing the legacy and tradition of Michigan football. And no I don't consider "we didn't count stretching as practice time" to be on that level, even if the NCAA deemed it a "major" violation.

He yells out in the Iowa weightroom when Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA”

apparently he hasn't listened much to the words that aren't "Born in the USA"

“They always find something wrong with [America]. They’re the problem,” Stanzi said. “They’re the people who need to change and figure it out. They need to get it together and work hard.

lol, is this guy a cartoon character?

And it's 44-0 early in the 4th. This team is pretty good.

I'm starting to come a round a little bit to them being in the title game (only if there is not two undefeated BCS teams). I mean, they looked dominate against two BCS teams and they are blowing out everyone in their conference like a top team would be doing. I still don't think it's fair that they can run the table against a crappy conference and get a shot but I don't see too many teams in BCS conferences who would win games in as impressive fashion as they have against that schedule (most of the top 10 probably would, aside from LSU, but outside of that I doubt it.).

Iowa has beaten Ohio State three times in my life and only one time was I old enough to care. It would be nice to win today.

I think you have a solid chance today at home. Ohio State is overrated.

It sounds like the Mountain West will likely add Hawaii and they'll be looking for a 12th school after that. The MWC is getting close to BCS conference territory again even after losing Utah and BYU. Adding the 4 best WAC schools and then if they add somebody else decent would create a pretty good conference.

It's too bad Michigan didn't show up in the first half. This might actually be a game. The defense can't even stop the run with 9 guys in the box though.
