only once, to bitch about two important calls in overtime, both of which were obviously wrong. not to complain that his team was getting jobbed by penalties.

plus pelini does throughout the entire game. he's a complete turd.

calm down...someone was mocking Pelini for going after the refs after the game, I was just mentioning that Joe Paterno has done it also. My guess is that other coaches have done it also. Head coaches being on the refs during the game is standard. What makes Peline worse then other coaches complaining to refs?

because he does it constantly when he should worry more about the discipline on his own team.

i will also add that the blown calls in penn state's games against iowa and michigan were, along with the msu-michigan clock game, the driving force behind the big ten adding instant replay, which spread to the rest of college football soon after. on behalf of joe paterno, you're welcome.

And I'm still completely torn on Locker in the NFL. The success Josh Freeman has had really messes that up. I think I want him to be a Viking though.

He was 10/21, 68 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT (and lucky to not have 2 more) against a very mediocre Bruins defense. I'd love to see the Vikings take him over a better QB.

It's all about his physical prowess though. Part of me is convinced that he's gonna be Josh Freeman but maybe better because he's more talented. The other part thinks that Sarkisian is a good offensive coach and he hasn't developed under him. The numbers are similar, the questions and the positives are similar. Of course there are many more hits than misses in that mold though.

I mean, he's physically gifted, yeah...but Luck does a lot of the same things, only a lot better. I never got the degree of hype before this season, and I really don't get it now. I get that he doesn't have great talent around him, but he hasn't done anything to suggest he's an elite prospect to date. I mean, compare him at Washington to Cutler at Vanderbilt, for example. Cutler was a significantly more productive college player and he crept up the boards before eventually going #11 (and is clearly better than either of the quarterbacks who were drafted ahead of him). Locker has been talked about as a possible #1 overall and still gets a lot of top 5 talk. I don't get it.

Does Pelini do this every game or was it worse this game? I didnt watch a lot of the game, but it was a very questionable roughing the QB call that lead to aTm getting their game winning fg.

I agree that Paterno and Carr were very key figures in getting instant replay in Big Ten FB...truth is it would not have happened without Michigan, Penn St and Ohio St wanting it

Pelini is like that every game. And most of the antics that he had today were well before the roughing the passer call. He completely lost his mind on an obvious pass interference call and nearly jabbed the ref in the eye with his laminated sheet.

no, that was illinois-michigan 2000 when a-train kept fumbling and they kept ruling him down and illinois kept not fumbling and they kept ruling that they had fumbled.

sorry sulley, no one gives a rip about Illinois. Now when Penn St, Michigan and OSU start losing games with some questionable reffing, thats when things change

say what you want but it was a national game and a complete embarrassment for the referees and the big ten. they kept showing the replays over and over and over. i'm not saying it was the only reason, but it was a contributing factor, li'l ol' U of I or not.

EDIT: if anything, replay is to combat the bias towards the big super-sexy mega-schools, to level the playing field a bit.

To add perspective, Nebraska was penalized 16 times for 145 yards to aTm's 2 for 10 yards. I'm sure Pelini feels the B12 is trying to railroad his team for leaving the conference and if that's how he honestly feels, then I can't blame the guy for being irate.

This may be true, but there was going to be no replay until Paterno and Carr got behind it. Once those 2 did, it was in place within a couple of years

i don't know, the public was tired of getting jobbed, and it was a nearly every fan everywhere felt that replay should be instituted.

after an important nationally-televised night game between unbeatens got totally blown up, i don't think it much mattered what important figures were behind it, it was going to happen because fans and alumni wanted it.

Pelini's dumb enough to believe this, too.

A Nebraska player was at the bottom of a pile clearly getting his nuts pinched(punched?) by an ATM player. When he tried to get him off, he was flagged, twice. The Nebraska player. I don't have video, but assume it's out there somewhere.

Nebraska got hosed, Pellini is a heathen. Both facts that shouldn't have anything to do with one another.

Oh yeah, Arkansas had me hella worried tonight, but they pulled it out. MS St. is a good team, and this was a good win. Also, shoutouts to A&M. That win is looking real good on Arkansas's resume now. Finally, congratulations to Knile Davis for going over 1000 yards for the season. In what was considered a collection of decent backs, he has emerged as legitimately special back in the second half of the season. Davis has 741 yards and 11 touchdowns in his last 5 games. It's made the Arkansas offense that much stronger, and more importantly, much less likely to fade in the 2nd half, as they did earlier in the season. If they had had the current Davis against Alabama, I suspect they would have held on and won that game.

Cam Newton should be in the draft too and I bet both Locker and he will see their stocks rise during the Combine.

I'm all aboard the Cam train. I can talk myself into Newton, Mallett or Locker. Or Stanzi in the 2nd/3rd. I just really want a QB I can have hope in.

Will Newton be willing to take a paycut to come to the NFL?

so i guess Bobby D figured out the option. I hope the ND defense that showed up the last 2 weeks is in LA next weekend.

Are you on the Rees train as much as I am? I feel like he's a much better fit for the offense than Crist is even though he's obviously not as naturally gifted.

The ATrain fumble happened right in front of us. we were in the horseshoe in that corner. Everyone, including all the Illinois fans, thought it was a facemask.

well, it wasn't really close to a facemask. so it goes to show what illini fans know.

6. Ohio State

7. Oklahoma

8. Missouri

9. Virginia Tech

10. Arizona

11. Auburn

12. Arkansas

13. Nebraska

14. Oklahoma State

15. South Carolina

Tons of Pac-10 teams that haven't been able to win in conference, but the entire Pac-10 (minus Washington State) did well in non-conference, so playing within themselves have boosted up all the teams' SOS to the stratosphere.
