When was the last time the Vikings gave up 130 yards rushing?

They gave up 155 to the Jets in Week 4. They gave up 122 to the Pats a few weeks ago, but not quite 130.

Yeah our run defense has been a shadow of it's former self this year. It really took a dive quickly.

Williams wall finally off the juice?

LOL, I was thinking the same but didn't want to anger hawkeye :)

Since you said it though...........

Kevin is still really good. Pat is just too old. This is his last year. Plus E.J. isn't fully back to what he was before his injury.

Did they ever rule either way on the starcaps thing or did the NFL just decide to ignore it and pretend nothing ever happened?

MikeHunt watched this game and determined Vikings and Bears are done for the season.

My favorite part.

Beyond that, who have they beaten?

OK, they beat Green Bay when the Packers were going through their addled close-loss stage, but they've figured most of that out by now.

Yeah, I loved the notion that Green Bay figured out how not to lose closely.

they are pretty pleased with themselves after stopping an offense led by the great mark sanchez.

when the line is protecting well, and cutler is scrambling and on the move and looking downfield, there's not really a good way to stop the bears' offense.

however, if the line is bad and cutler is getting pressure up the middle there's nothing that can make the offense work.

aside from one terrible running play when chris williams got owned by pat williams and forte or taylor got stopped on a big loss, i didn't notice williams getting beaten that often. forgetting this, the bears need to come out next week like they did this week: in max protect to get those guys acclimated and comfortable before trying anything daring.

if they play conservatively with their line and then are able to move the pocket and get cutler outside where he has some time and room, he will beat anyone all day with that arm, there's no one that can cover knox for that long, even if he is the dumbest player in the league.

It's so awesome that Favre leaked another injury he's playing through after this loss. How many more the rest of the year?

Yeah he appears to want it both ways now. On the one hand, he won't take himself out because of his precious streak. On the other hand, most of the time he simply sucks now.

You can't force yourself on a team when you blow chunks and then blame it on injuries. The simple solution is, if you can't cut it then don't play, Brett. But he can't do that.

Another awesome thing to behold is how trapped all of this had made Childress. He freely hitched his wagon to the Favre express only to find out once you do that, there's no escape :)

LOL, the Vikings are great entertainment.

gotta have that precious start streak, he knows manning will get there most probably because he never gets hurt because he never gets hit. along with that td record and yards, too.

Manning gets hit a pretty good amount now. He doesn't get sacked very much because he gets rid of the ball so quickly but it's hard avoiding your share of hits when your offensive line is well below average.

The funny thing is, I figured it would be the Packers who would suffer from a declining Favre vs. the legend vs. not wanting to let go, etc.

Turns out to be the Vikings instead. Which is just fine with me.

10 b. With three touchdown passes, Cutler moved into 10th place on the franchise's career list with 39. He's just two behind Johnny Lujack for ninth place. Cutler's played in 24 games for the Bears, and it shows you just how easy it is to climb the organization's QB lists.

10 c. Olsen's 19th touchdown past moved him out of a tie with Clark for second place on the career list for tight ends with the Bears. Mike Ditka leads the way with 34.

I, for one, don't know how anybody could have any idea that the Brett Favre experiment would come back to bite Minnesota in the end.

Eh, it was still worth it. They don't have the year they had last year without him and he played well enough to win. He hasn't been good this year but with the secondary and WR injuries, I don't know how far they'd go even if he were repeating 2009.

If this year gets Frazier in and Bevell/Chilly out it's not all bad.

Could have happened already with no Favre.

I find it interesting that Childress wasn't fired this morning. Especially in light of what happened with the Cowboys yesterday.

I'm not saying they should follow some other team and just copy them, but it's pretty clear a boost in performance is possible with a coaching change, and the Vikings really need that right now, and Frazier is a very solid candidate.

To me that's a formula that should have added up to an 8am report that Childress is gone. But nope.

That article is hilarious. His article as it pertains to the Bears:

"The Bears are awful, Jay cutler is a knucklehead, the Bears will lose to Miami because they aren't good enough to win there, besides the Bears havent beat anyone good. OK they did beat the team that I am claiming is vastly superior to the Bears, but heck that was a month and a half ago when the Packers lacked the "win close games" skill that they now somehow possess."

They just signed him to an extension.
