Tyler Thigpen blows.

The point is he's not completely useless. He's good enough to beat us if we aren't at our best. He's like Doug Flutie. Elusive white guy that can move the ball through the air and get some decent yardage on the ground if you don't watch him closely.

He obviously isn't like a starter quality QB but he's probably better than half the teams backup QBs and can lead them to wins.

Naw, we should smash him. Of course we COULD lose but we don't have to play as well as we did today to beat a Thigpen led Dolphins team unless Brown and Williams go ape [expletive].

He's in the Shaun Hill, Charlie Whitehurst, realm.

Good Lord, I know you're always desperate to make posts about every single way your teams can lose, but come on.

I didn't say he would beat us. I said he could. I'm not desperate to do anything but have a discussion about next weeks football game.

i would be surprised if tyler thigpen beat us, but i wouldn't be surprised if the dolphins beat us.

Now that makes more sense.

When you've made sulley look like the voice of reason here, well, you've veered off somewhere.

Anybody technically could, but that's just ridiculous.

Yeah and Tyler Thigpen has a better chance than probably any 3rd string QB would. If any other teams 3rd QB was in there, there would be almost 0 chance of a victory. But the Dolphins have a pretty good QB for 3rd string standards, and thus still have a chance to beat us.

I was gonna talk about all the teams Thigpen beat when he was starting for the Chiefs and averaged 186 passing yards a game, and had an 18-12 TD-INT ratio, not to mention averaged 6.2 YPC and 3 rushing TDs, but I forgot that Chiefs team was beyond miserable. Despite that miserable team he did manage to lead the offense to 20 PPG in his 11 starts.

You are arguing that I am saying that we're in trouble that we have to face Thigpen, when all I am arguing is that despite the Dolphins being on their 3rd string QB, that QB is capable of beating us if we aren't playing well. Meaning he's not going to go 5-16 with 4 INTs or whatever Todd Collins did. My guess is we do play well and beat him.

Looks like White isn't on the Dolphins any more. They'll probably sign at least one QB this week.

Pat White currently plays in the Kansas City Royals farm system. No joke.

I'm just gonna enjoy this one tonight. I'll worry about what a Thigpen-led Phins squad can & can't do tomorrow :)

We played solid football today! I'm a happy Bear fan.

lol one of the bloggers on the Daily Norseman is calling the Bears the best team in the NFC North and endorsing the Bears to win the division title.

I have read and considered what you have posted. I shall now respond:

I have no idea. As long as the Bears don't get a defensive/special teams TD or have a +2 advantage in turnovers, I think the Vikings win. I just don't know if they'll be able to get in a straight up game like that. As much as Cutler will try, our secondary doesn't like to catch the ball.

Kluwe is having a tremendous season, probably the best of any Viking I can remember. So he should be able to keep it away from Hester or at least put it to the right spot. Longwell has nothing left on his kickoffs so those are always scary.

While the Bears did have 4 kick returns of 32 yards or more to get the ball outside their own 40. And they did have a +2 turnover advantage. I would say the Bears did beat the Vikings straight up. The Favre fumble led to nothing as Gould missed a 1st down FG at the end of the half. The last INT just iced a game that was already over. Even without those 2 TOs the Bears win this game by 7 at least.

Now that is how you win an argument. Well played, sir.

Bears just went from 8th in the NFC to hosting a home playoff game if the season ended today.

If only we had beaten the Giants as one of our 6 wins, we'd be in a bye right now.

And we all know that when the Bears bother to show up for the playoffs, they don't do wild card weekend. It's been 16 years since we've lowered ourselves to participate in one of those.

When was the last time the Vikings gave up 130 yards rushing?

They gave up 155 to the Jets in Week 4. They gave up 122 to the Pats a few weeks ago, but not quite 130.
