I wouldn't mind lee/bmills for bogans/asik and I really like asik as a player. We need to do something though. Not that this is possible but can Gerald Wallace play the 2? We would be the best rebounding team ever, but he probably doesn't fit our needs too well. I wish we would have jumped on Stephen Jackson when his value was at its lowest earlier this season.

With the talk of Bulls getting a "mystery guy" I'm hoping it's that and not Parker or even Lee. I don't think Mayo is even in play at this point unfortunately. Just saw a tweet though from ESPNINSIDER saying we're in the lead for Lee though......

Hilarious. Wont give up a guy who will probably never start a game for the Bulls unless someone is hurt, for a clear upgrade at SG. Horrible

And someone has been hurt for about 50 games this season.

And Kurt Thomas still got the starts. 24 seconds last night for Asik Impressive

Again, this is not the last season that will ever be played (actually I guess that is a distinct possibility). Kurt Thomas will be gone next year. Asik should get those starts. Plus, not starting does not mean not valuable member of the team.

Big men are alot easier to find then a SG. The Bulls have a big hole at SG right now, you give up Asik and figure out who the backup center is when the time comes next year.

Big men who are shutdown defenders are not "alot" easier to find than a shooting guard. Shooting guard is the most popular position in the NBA.

Asik is now a "shutdown defender"? Come on. And if it was so easy to find a SG then why are we starting Keith Bogans?

The Bulls have 3 SGs on their roster. Thibs likes Bogans.

Do you know anything about Asik at all or do you just assume he's a tall stiff because he's white?

How much of Asik's "shutdown" defense is coming from him and how much is coming from Thibodeaux?

Considering he has the best DRating on the team, and the second team of Asik-Gibson has been the best statistical in-the-paint defense in the NBA this year, I'd say Asik contributes appropriately.

He has a bunch of holes in his game offensively, but he's already one of the best big men defenders in the NBA in his rookie year.

So I'm assuming we got zilch, correct? Mcgraw tweeted we discussed the usual guys but wouldn't cave on Asik or Taj......

Nothing definitive on Chicago yet. Several teams have come out and said "We didn't make any deals", so it's not completely dead yet.

Is DRating the same stat that was listed previously that had Boozer as a really good defender?

Yes, which is why I also added the second part, as that combo leads the NBA in opposing FG% in the paint and defensive rebound rate. Fouls are a problem, but overall still really impressive numbers. Not enough data with Noah-Gibson or Noah-Asik to make conclusions about those pairings, though.

Boozer is a decent on-man defender, good defensive rebounder, worst help defender in the league.

I think you're underselling Gibson by quite a bit. You can find 7 foot stiffs anywhere

Except that Asik isn't a stiff. He's athletic and can run the floor really well, and he's a good on-ball defender. He's an outstanding rebounder, too. He's not ever going to be an All-Star, but it's very difficult to find 7-footers with some skills.

I'm guessing the Bulls didn't make a move because they don't feel they have a realistic shot at a title this year and would rather hold assets for the next few years. Hard to argue with them.

Exactly.

The Bulls aren't going to win a title with Courtney Lee.
