BPA, can't complain at all. And I hate the guy. Hopefully one of Noah or TT turns into a stud big man.

Hawes is a fine player, meets a need and would be a good role player. The concerns about his rebounding and athleticism are warranted, though and that's why I'd lean towards Noah.

Noah has "star" potential but no one else left on the board (besides Julian Wright) has that high a potential.

Couldn't disagree more...he is much more likely to bust than to ever be a star. Take away the crazy hair, the great supporting cast he had (he was actually part of the supporting cast to Horford/Brewer), the famous parents and the bombastic personality and you're left with an above-average, undersized non-scoring tweener.

Most overrated player in the draft.

Certainly he has bust potential, but you are looking past his ceiling.

So who did you guys want instead?

I dont know, but I really dont want to have to see him and his freaking act for 81 games a year. I hate the fact that his offense is lacking greatly also.

I think he's a better offensive player than what he has shown thus far because of playing on such a strong team with other studs like Brewer and Horford.

And believe me, I'm a UCLA alum. I can't stand what he did and said at the championship game two years ago and I hate the guy. But he's the best player available and a great pick.

The embedding quote max is annoying. Looking through the draft thread, there were about 3 guys who liked the pick.

I guess I liked Hawes more than I thought on draft day though. I know I soured on him a lot during the work outs pre-draft.

And there were posts by Chocolate Milk in that draft thread.

i'm starting to think the sixers are not going to win the title this year.

Last night aside, the Sixers had been on fire lately, especially defensively this month. They're still on track to at least challenge for a playoff spot, and are one of 9 teams in the East actually capable of making the playoffs (I think 6 teams -- Cleveland, Detroit, Washington, Charlotte, New Jersey and Toronto -- are basically done).

that's good that they're playing defense, because last year i'm pretty sure they sucked at it.

evan turner has kind of been a bum this year, which isn't good since we drafted him #2 overall. i'm just hoping he ends up being a productive player rather than a complete bust. so far he hasn't shown much ability to create his own shot, which is a bad problem for a supposedly athletic guard.

That's surprising, given must of OSU offense last season was Turner one on one.

Yeah its the same on WCIU. Heard some interesting things tonight. It's most evident on the side of the court that the Wizards are currently shooting at.

So BHO will pander to the gays but can't show up for his hometown team when they play the Wizards.

He was at a game a couple of years ago and the Bulls got killed. He probably doesn't want to jinx them anymore.
