For those that care (not you, N&G), we've got a pretty decent new Bulls writer at 312sports.

Worth checking the article just for the picture of Rose using Miller & Scola.

kinda sucks they throw us to the wolves immediately on a road trip and have us go to san antonio tomorrow, thats a bummer, you'd think on a long road trip like this they wouldn't give us back-to-backs. oh well, glad we could grit this one out

does anyone else find themselves in physical pain when (and it seems way too often, though i understand we can't work these guys to death) neither rose or noah are on the court? when the lineup was brewer-watson-asik-gibson-korver (if i remember correctly) we went into a tailspin and completely lost control of the game in the 3rd

brewer and watson are just brutal to watch, and asik is a pleasant surprise, bizarrely. derrick rose is an absolute monster. this team is gonna get really interesting to watch with boozer.

Actually, Brewer was very good today and seems to be finally getting up to game speed.

The fact that he can't shoot shouldn't be news to anybody.

While I agree that having those out of the game is never really a good thing, and I only saw parts of the game tonight, the +/-'s are kinda interesting...

The three best players on the team for that stat were Korver (+23), Brewer (+16), and Asik (+16). Watson was even, and Rose was the only other player on the team with a positive number (+6). Obviously, I know the danger's of looking too much into a stat like that, but it doesn't seem like the bench play was really that bad tonight, especially considering the bench typically gets a lot of minutes in the second quarter where we outscored them 30-15.

Just a by the way, Noah was a team worst at (-18).

i'll say it again. this team is going to be legit when boozer comes back.

we aren't winning a title, but we could get to the ecf for sure. and who knows.... if boston knocks off miami, i could see us having a legit shot against boston in a 7 game series. we play those guys really well.

We match up better against Miami than we do Boston.

I wish I could have seen the game last night. Being in Texas, I figured I would have been able to see it somewhere. Oh well, I'll get the Spurs and Mavs games. A Texas sweep would be nice.

I can see where you're going with that, but I've actually seen us match up well against Boston. I'll have to wait until we actually play Miami a few times before I can buy into that.

We've matched up well with Boston -- when KG isn't playing. The game that we had at Boston a couple of weeks ago was really the first time I remember us actually playing well there when KG's played. And we still lost.

When they get Perkins back, they're going to be a real tough team to play against. I'd take my chances with Miami's NBDL frontcourt.

I know people like to act like that game was an easy win and that Boston wasn't trying very much to win, but it sure looks like their starters played normal minutes and they definitely weren't out there trying to lose.

That said, I don't know that I'd be all that worried about KG at this point... especially not after another entire season's worth of wear and tear (his nice start to this season notwithstanding). Not that he isn't productive, but I can't see him having much left in the tank.

If Boston's healthy, I have no idea who's going to stop them in the paint. Noah can only do so much.

That's a big ass if with the age of that team, the condition of KG's knees, and 6 more months of mileage. The fact that they were able to kick it up a notch for the playoffs last year doesn't mean they can do it again.

Just saw the highlights, I see that Derrick went into God mode. Nice.

Where are the "Rose has no killer instinct" people now?

how come everyones forgettig orlando in all of this

i think they are still the best team in the east

I think they can be. They haven't acted like it so far this year.

Wait who is anyone supposed to be afraid of on Boston in the paint? Shaq?

I chose to ignore the troll bait portion of the post.

Only 1/8 thru the season, but Derrick Rose is the NBA MVP at this moment. He's taking that step people.

rose still hasn't been quite efficient enough to be in that conversation just yet... he needs to get to the line more to finish his arrival

not that rose hasn't been great, just paul has been better. rose's usage rate is sky-high, like top 5 in the league.

That's the thing. I think they're our worst matchup out of the legitimate teams in the East. They have been the last couple of years and I don't see how that changes this season.

What? That wasn't trollbait, the Bulls don't have the frontcourt defense to contend with Boston's frontcourt. If Noah's gonna be chasing Garnett around the court then Boozer, then that leaves nobody in the paint on Perkins/Shaq/Davis. If Boozer's gonna guard Garnett, then he'll drop 30 a game on him.

Miami may be a better team overall, but they're definitely a better matchup for the Bulls

Agreed, except I don't think Miami's a better team than Boston.
