59-34 on the boards. You usually blow teams out with that kind of edge on the glass. We just missed so many open shots and Luol did his disappearing act again. Really good win though.

We should have a decent chance at winning both the Phoenix and Denver games, and we should win the Sacramento game... so there's a pretty solid chance of a 4-3 trip, and 5-2 isn't all that insane.

lovin this team

deng + taj + the charlotte 1st for melo. how does denver not do that trade?

Again, I think they'd have to cave to that at the deadline. Keep upping that trade value, Taj!

Because Deng stinks.

We can only hope he becomes more consistent when he's the clear #3 option on offense.

We face Orlando and Boston after the circus trip, but then we hit a real soft spot in our schedule. If we can get through this trip at 4-3, we'll be in great shape.

Do the Bulls even want to do that trade at this point.

OK of course they do, but despite the 2 previous games before today, Taj is a very solid piece and gives the Bulls depth when Boozer comes back. Also, as maddening as Luol is, he's said to be an extremely positive influence in the locker room this year and has never worked harder.

Still, obviously you do that trade without a moment of hesitation. I guess my point was, while we definitely need another scorer, we're certainly not garbage without that player.

I'm sure the Bulls would be hesitant to pull the trigger on that deal. I agree that both Taj and even Deng, as much as I rag on him, are solid contributors to a good team. When you have the chance to get a legitimate superstar, you do it.

we are the best team in the NBA with melo. we gotta keep the pressure on.

Yeah I don't know about that. Those guys in LA look pretty good this year, no? I think they might have a future in the league.

And no I'm not talking about the LA team with Blake Griffin on it.

Deng is useful and does several things that are important but he's forced to be a #2 when he needs to be a #3 or 4. When he has to create he gets in trouble.

I still don't think Denver takes him in a trade. They'd rather just have the cap space. If you can get a 3rd team involved that has expiring deals then you can start to build a trade around that.

I think we're the best in the East with Melo.

I don't know maybe. Even though the Celtics are older, they have a ton of depth and most of the key players have been playing together for multiple seasons. Very tough to say that the Bulls are outright better than them, but there'd definitely be some solid competition from our guys.

Especially when you have a chance to do so while already having (and keeping) Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer, and Derrick Rose on your team.

I still don't see us getting Melo (pretty much being pessimistic to not get my hopes up) but I'm honestly falling in love with this team already. I love their defensive effort and I'm excited to see them compete with Boozer on the floor. I would just love them to have someone who could hit a damn jumper. Our lack of a jump shooter may be what holds us back. Edited by bcl412

You mean like Deng, Boozer, Korver, Rose, Taj, and even Noah?

Deng just needs to stop missing layups and make more FTs.... not driving out of control to the basket and charging would be nice, too. And try to pass to the open trailer on the fast break now and again, plz.

Korver doesn't count because I've mentioned him as one guy who can. Rose doesn't count because I'm more talking about the opened jumpers that he's created with his passing and Taj and Noah haven't been consistent with their jump shots and can't be relied upon and I can't really remember a time this year when Deng has hit an open jumper.

Actually, I'm mostly overreacting quite a bit from when Rose hits Bogans on an open jumper and he misses it every time. I'm also drunk.

he seems to be hesitant on his mid range jumpers for some reason. he's fine with 3's. but it seems like he's passing on a ton of open mid range shots this seaosn for whatever reason.

and yes, he's missed a lot of layups.
