All I've seen of Deng this year was 5 or 6 bulls games and then all the complaints about him on here. I looked at his numbers the other day and was actually shocked at how good he's been.

Gasol nudges out Kobe. Wow, really? I expected Durant to be a little higher, too.

And good lord is LeBron a beast. Rose and CP3 playing unbelievable and LeBron just owning them in the stats.

Yup his level of excellence right now in rare air. Most the time theres 3 levels of stardom, the elite stars, the superstars, and the stars. Right now LeBron is playing at his own level and the last time we've seen it was with MJ, when back in the early 90's bukie's rankings would replace Lebron with Jordan, and CP3 and Rose with Hakeem and Malone. In that era, there was Jordan and there was everyone else. And now it seems like that's the case with LeBron. Only people aren't in awe of him, and instead only want to discredit him because he's a POS.

I agree with a lot of this. LeBron is really freaking good. I don't want to cheer for him but I'm starting too because he's not really getting the credit he deserves right now because of the decision, the team he's on, the players he plays with, etc.

Losing on a goal tend would have been painful. I think it was goal tending actually.

I thought it pretty close. Cleveland and the Clippers is more interesting that this Lakers/Knicks game. I wish ESPN could stay with that one.

Its funny because by all rights MJ is a bigger POS than Lebron James is/was, but MJ just had better PR

It kind of comes down to people like the way Jordan carried himself on the court compared with LeBron I think. People love Jordan because the way he looked and the clutch shots he hit. He was a dick on the court too but people viewed it as badass.

LeBron has a different demeanor and carries himself in a different way than MJ. You're right, Jordan is a bigger a-hole most likely (I don't know these people so it's hard to say) but because of the way they appear to carry themselves on the court. MJ will always be more likable.

Also, MJ was first and MJ probably had better PR like you said.

That and MJ didn't quit in the playoffs and then create a TV show where he announced he was leaving Chicago to play with Barkley and Ewing in Miami.

LeBron was generally liked by a majority of NBA fans until the Decision.

Hopefully Cleveland can come through on Sunday and keep the potential 0-41 road record alive for Washington.

lebron is the most talented of all rodeo clowns, mj was a mother-[expletive] coldblooded bullfighter. and that's how they carry or carried themselves on the court.

Demarcus cousins is so talented. if he had half a brain in his head, he'd be unstoppable

Fun game tonight. Couldn't believe Durant missed two FTs at the end.

What happened with the two points they took away from OKC (I think it was from Ibaka) late in the fourth? OKC had 99 points and then all of a sudden they only had 97.

How many times did Lebron send his Cav teammates to tears in practice?

but lebron is [expletive] up for different reasons. jordan was the maestro who wouldn't accept anything less from his teammates than the effort he gave. jordan's constant berating of his teammates was for the good of the team. lebron doesn't have that.

All eight road teams won tonight. Weird.

SportsCenter just said it's the most games in a day where every road team won in NBA history. Previous record was 7 on Feb. 3, 1996.

uh thats sugar coating it. Its not a controversial opinion that Michael Jordan is a jackass. he's never been anything better than rude or downright insulting to his fans, he abused his teammates and some of his former coaches, and he abused his own players when he was an general manager/owner.

this is a good watch

this reminds me, i've been meaning to pick up The Jordan Rules and read it for some time, anyone else read it?

my feeling is that the media can really pick and choose who the public loves and hates really. i found my self getting caught up in the whole lebron thing and then i stopped myself and wondered, really, is he all that bad for the whole 'decision' crap? A bad move by any stretch of the imagination yes, but he turned from one of the more sympathetic athletes in the world to one of the most detested pretty quickly, and almost mysteriously.

nothing illustrates it more than Jay Cutler, who really isn't a bad guy, played hard while injured, and still got a bad rap for it. oh he's short to reporters i guess, and is kinda aloof (but not nearly as aloof as the media would like to make him out to be) or something. but its almost 100% fabricated and it becomes the narrative because if you don't scratch below the surface its hard to find the true story.
